ONE OF THE BETTER ALL-AROUND SHOWS OF A HOT FALL TOUR...! 8-)

11-27-98 The Centrum, Worcester, MA
1: Funky Bitch, Ya Mar, Carini, Runaway Jim, Meat, Reba*, The Old Home Place, Dogs Stole Things, Vultures, When the Circus Comes, Birds of a Feather (1:23)

2: Buried Alive, Wipe Out+, Chalk Dust Torture** -> Mirror in the Bathroom# -> Chalk Dust Torture -> Dog Log## -> Chalk Dust Torture > Sanity, Buffalo Bill, Mike's Song^ -> I Am Hydrogen -> Weekapaug Groove^^, Run Like an Antelope (1:18)

E: Wading in the Velvet Sea, Golgi Apparatus -> Wipe Out+ (0:13)

*With whistling. +Trey introduced Fish. **With "Wipe Out" teases. #First time played (The Beat (later known as The English Beat) cover from their debut LP "I Just Can't Stop It"); two verses played. ##Possibly inspired by a dog show taking place next door to the Centrum; very bluesy. ^With ambient jamming. ^^With recurring "Wipe Out" jamming and ambient jamming (especially in the latter portion). +After a drum solo by Fish, Trey introduced him again and then they finished "Wipe Out."

11/27/98 may be my favorite Live Phish release. That or 6/22/94.

Two year anniversary of a pretty sweet show in Albany! the best of that four show run, edging out the next night.
Great Setlist, well performed--plus a guest appearance by original band member Jeff Holdsworth! CamelWAlk and Possum are classic!

Yes Albany was the one fully solid show of that tour. The Wolfman's in the 1st set is great and get's lost because the second set was so memorable. I remember being exactly to Page's side and wondering who these two old dudes lurking back stage are doing cuz and it turns out it was Holdsworth and a very grey haired Tom Marshall who i cannot believe i did not recognize but the grey threw me and made me feel old!
As he saw his life run away from him 1000's ran along chanting words from a psalm.

You were at the show! cool!
I forgot about the tom marshall appearance too. When I saw the setlist I thought: "What the hell will they play for the 20th anniversary show--they already played all their show-stoppers???"

Albany 12/1/03 was solid. You could've powered all the lights in NY with the energy in the Knick that night. That place always seemed to bring the best out of the boys. I'd give it my nod for top five post-hiatus shows, even top three...

Also 12/1/95 - 10 years ago was the start of maybe the best month is phishtory. This sweet gem from Hershey, Pennsylvania includes a Forbins Narration about Eastern and Western philosophies and how chocolate ties into all of it. "mmmmmmmmmmm chocolate". I really believe it is worth getting for this narration alone, my personal favorite. but this second set is sooo cool man:

2: Halley's Comet-> Mike's Song-> Weekapaug Groove-> The Mango Song, Wilson, HYHU-> Suspicous Minds-> HYHU, David Bowie-> Catapult-> David Bowie

Nice.

I can't believe no one has mentioned today's date...12/2! The "alleged" first concert date (1983). This date 10 years ago produced one of the best "Tweezers" ever, too!

God why is Winter always some of the finest Phish ever?? 94/95/96/97...arguably all those years reached orgasmic crescendos in December especially.

inside shows always were action packed. more intimate, better lights, more energy, louder tunes, harder to get tickets, etc.

12-8-95 Cleveland. This was avery special night as the band was at their Fall 95 best with a sweet Tweezer > Kung > Tweezer that got real dark. There were two specific memorable things that happened this night. They played Antelope after Tweezer reprise in the second set and we all thought the set was over after Tweeprize so that was a real treat. Second ( and i did not even realize the date and significance until they played the songs) there was a double Beatles John Lennon encore including the only version ever of Come Together. It was the 15th anniversary of Lennon's Death that, night 10 years ago!And 25 years today. Here is alink to the setlist.

Haven't heard the show, but the 12/8/99 setlist looks interesting. Especially the YEM -> Tweeprise, which is basically an acapella Tweeprise that comes out of the YEM vocal jam.

OKK!!!! I had to do this because I've been thinking about this allllllllllll day. Today is the two year anniversary of my favorite phish show that I witnessed. The second night in miami was unbelievable. An underatted first set (with a raging piper opener, and a great limb wolfmans poor heart cavern closer----and the second post-hiatus foam!!!) followed by a segue-filled, jammed out second set. The energy in American Airlines Arena during that second set is the most I've ever felt at any event in my life.
The only post-hiatus shows better than this are 2.28.03 and 7.29.03--without a doubt

7.29 is absolutely ridiculous. It's not just the bust-out nature of the set...it is how well the songs are played
