LOL @ Savannah Guthrie's comment: "I don't remember the theme from 2001 being so disco"

So last night, I'm doing something on the phone or computer while the TV is on in the background, on this Time Warner news network called YNN that reports local and NY state news. They are doing a story about some guy who is going to run for a congress seat in a northern NY county and his name is Aaron Woolf. My ears perked up at the name for obvious reasons and I was sort of half listening to the story until the end, when the most interesting fact was revealed. He is THE Aaron/Errand Woolf!

Also while on the web, while maybe not important to his candidacy, we learned Woolf went to a private school in New Jersey and became friends with the now lead singer of the popular rock band 'Phish'."Trey Anastasio has said in the past that Woolf and his family provided some inspiration during Phish's early days. Woolf is actually credited with co-writing two Phish songs

Minor Phish sighting on last night's episode of The Bates Motel on A&E.

Within the first several minutes of the show, this hot chick, who also happens to own an illegal pot farm in Oregon, is driving her SUV while Farmhouse is playing on her car's sound system. Interesting that Phish and a pot farmer are married together in a storyline.

Pot was also at the core of last night's episode of Bones. Strong script support for medicinal marijuana.

And everyday is the right day
And as you rise above the fear lines in his frown
You look down
Hear the sound of the faces in the crowd

^^There is undoubtedly, in my mind, a big push by the media/entertainment industry recently to include casual, innocuous, and/or outright positive marijuana related messages in order to acclimate the general public who have not yet acclimated themselves to marijuana being a casual, innocuous, and/or positive part of life.

This is likely because a lot of folks in media and especially the entertainment industry happen to use that casual, innocuous and/or outright positive product and would like it to be seen as casual, innocuous and/or outright positive if only for their own personal benefit.

This wasn't Phish but every time I see this commercial on TV it reminds me of Ghost:

Haha. Pretty phunky stuff. I don't know if I've ever actually wanted a commercial to be longer, but I really wanted to hear some vocals kick in.

The Colbert Report has Phish mentions all the time.
A couple weeks ago mention something along the lines of:
"Sony just created a 1000 terabyte cassette. Now you can put 2 of your Phish songs on it". :D

I had to use one of those captcha things to sign into a website and the words it made me type were "That Time Then Once Again" I've seen them use classic rock lyrics before but this was a surprise.

Conan OBrien Makes Fun Of Phish Loving Cue Card Man

This was from a few days ago..

"Last night's episode of Conan on TBS was the show's second annual "Scrapisode" featuring outtakes and moments from rehearsals. In the middle of the episode Phish came up when Conan O'Brien took cue card man Kent Irwin to task for his devotion to the Vermont jam act."

^^I like "If you want, jimmy could just play scales and you could twirl around."

There is a collective groan when he says he's been to 160 shows, like its personally offensive to the crew.

^i couldn't get any videos of it to play. Have to look for it after it gets out there more.

^^I had forgotten about that reference to Trey by Colbert on The Office. I got a kick out of that. Also the Tahoe Tweezer reference on The Soup.

I saw a clip when it was aired but every site that posted it has it taken down now. Guess the K&P producers cracked down.

It was only a short one-minute conversation...just about how folks who get into Phish "never come back." They also made fun of how we rant and rave about these weird songs with wacky names being so awesome...I think they make up some jamband song name like "Bubblefish" as the name of a fictional song in their example. I chuckled at that since it DOES get funny when you're ranting about songs no one else has heard...like your own secret language. Guess you need to see it.

^LOL. It seems clear that some tech guy said "Eh, let's look for a song that's about heavy stuff" and then the google search gave them Heavy Things. Reminds me of when a buddy claimed he could find a song on any subject and I specically told him to "find a song about Mangos" since I knew he'd come with The Mango Song.
