As I got into the exam room here at the doctor, I heard some guy across the hall refer to an ocelot. Not an animal you hear referenced much.

We have the Piper Trail that goes up Mt. Chocorua. And in the summer the cog railway spews a thin trail of smoke on the top of Mt. Washington which always reminded me of the "smoke behind the mountain curl" line in BOTT. I remember when Farmhouse first came out and i was getting all heady with myself and the CD and the train smoke on the mountain thinking yeah man smoke behind the mountian curl yeah yeah groovy right on munchkin time yeah.

something like that.

My son was watching Nick Jr. tonight and this was on the screen as I walked into the room. Had to pause it and snap a shot, too perfect...

So I'm sitting in my parked car, just flippin the radio dials, and I get to 88.3 FM and I'm like, why is this so familiar and I can't place it ... the reception was pretty weak ... soon I realized that part of why I couldn't place it, is that you just never hear YEM on the fuckin' radio. They were playing, I think, all of set two of 8/14/09. I moved my car out of the garage just to get better reception.

I would have no idea what to do in that situation. Would be so confusing. Heck, I was still blown away when I heard Heavy Things on K-Mart radio one time.

I can't recall if I mentioned this here or not... but I had the same experience.

Walked into a bank, recognized song but couldn't place it.

Trey Anastasio, Shine.

And this was like only a few months ago.

On a almost decade old song... that was a single? I don't even remember.

The radio stations in stores are weird. They have this strange collection of songs that they’re told are singles and they seem to never drop a song. So, somehow, Shine got listed as a single and once it’s in the rotation, it never goes away. And because it’s “department store music” no one ever complains…who calls them about dumb songs in a department store?

Seems like it's some weird niche market that's worth looking into. Department Store Radio.
