I went with DC, but this is a tough one. My favorite Mike's Song, but a good Lizards, Bag, Sky and Slave.

Had to go with Vegas '96. First set 2001 > Llama is great, you could really see where they were trying to go with future 2001's at this point, IMO. YEM with the donuts jam  . 2nd set Mike>Simple>Jam,Hood,Weekapaug is too good. and what an f'n encore.

DC does have a killer Mike's though (and the preferable one in this case), but the grooves they were laying down in Vegas that night, offering a glimpse into '97 and beyond, takes it over DC '96's continuation of '95-esque psychedelia.

^Pretty much agree with everything you said. Going with Vegas. They're both amongst my favorite shows, though.

I haven't voted yet because I haven't made up my mind, but I might also point out that the Bowie from Deer Creek is also amazing.

12/6/96 was the first show I ever listened to. I still remember the first time Mikes Song kicked in. The 2001>Llama is sick too.
we are all being pursed. some have been found, some are still running. some will keep running until they get to the end of the road, straight off the proverbial cliff. you don't have to turn back, you just have to turn around.

The Mikes Groove, Sky, Slave and Bowie give 8/13 the edge imo...not to mention the acoustic set. I probably listen to 12/6 a lot more since it is more recent LP release, but 8/13 is the second best show I've heard from '96. 11/2 is still a better show than either of these though.

This is another great matchup. (11/2's of the world aside) You got, IMO, the top '96 shows (that weren't from CB, 'ween or NYE) goin at it for '96 supremacy
