Sonic Youth??

Postby gregradiohead » Fri Feb 03, 2006 2:20 am

So I bought Sonic Youth's 'Washing Machine' album on a whim today and it turns out that John Siket, who gives this album his name, produced 'Washing Machine.'
I'm starting to think we could do a 'Six Degrees of Phish.'

Sonic Youth??

Sonic Youth are BIG DEADHEADS. I remember Lollapalooza 95, Thurston Moore dedicated "Diamond Sea to Jerry Garcia". Lee Ranoldo and thurston were both part of different Jerry Eulogy's around the time of his death, not to mention that the last album they put out, "Sonic Nurse", has a song written ABOUT Jerry according to Thurston Moore in various articles.

CHEERS!!!

Sonic Youth were very psychedelic in the late 80's and for most of the 90's.
They thankfully went back to the avant garde where they still reside today.

Siket also engineered a number of Yo La Tengo's early records. He's done a lot of moe. stuff, I think after hooking up with Phish. He did stuff on the Vida Blue records and Pork Toronado.
