Fuckin' A the 6/11/94 is fantastic. Contained a nice little jam section.

It's Ice

Postby goldenroad » Mon Jun 18, 2007 5:18 pm

I think I get lost in It's Ice more than any other song. You know that point where you go "what the hell song am I listening to?" and then it kicks back in and it's one of the greatest feelings in the world. I can listen to a 40 minute Tweezer and remember that it started out as a Tweezer, but two minutes into an Ice breakdown (meltdown?) I always forget what song I was listening to. Definately one of my favorite songs ever.

8/24/93!

I was in the same boat as GR in that I kind of forgot what song they were playing.

It's Ice

Wow, Page's piano work during this song on 6.16.95 is particularly masterful, especially the middle part.

and I don't just throw around the adjective "masterful" everyday

It's Ice

Without a doubt in my top 3 favorite Phish tunes, possibly my favorite. I hope to hell that we get one of theses during this upcoming leg of the tour, and I hope even more that I am in attendance.

^Unfortunately I was not. Only made it to Hartford, Merriweather, and SPAC during this leg, they were Amazing shows which made missing Its Ice much more bearable.

If you're looking for a good It's Ice I've been enjoying the Spring 94 versions quite a bit lately.

Yes this is probably my favorite version. Not flawless, but played with such enthusiasm. And yes Page RIPS this jam. I've listened to many others but this is still always the one that sticks in my mind. I like the one from Fall/Winter 95 with a Kung in the middle too. (10-29?)

6/18/94 is on the same level as 6/11/94 imo.

Love this song.

The version from 8/14/93 Tinley Park LivePhish release came on my shuffle yesterday morning and I had to listen back today. Is it just me or is that version extra saucy?
