After listening to this one, I think it's the most classic-sounding Phish tune. Aside from the lyrical content, I can easily imagine them playing this at Nectars. Anyone else?

Yeah, I don't know about Nectar's, but it's a pretty traditionally phishy song. Out of any of the new songs, I could totally see this one, and Wombat, leading to some really big jams over the next few tours.

Jury's still out for me technically on the Phish tune, although it's looking pretty good. This DLR tune of the same name ain't half bad neither.

Might be poppy, but I really like this song.

Hope to see it this summer.

^seriously though it is a good tune. I hear bits of taste in the middle section and a good strong mango song throughout, esp at the end. also gives me a guelah or glide vibe in certain parts, even a squirming coil nod right before the "maybe that bird..." part. also love treys guitar line through the song, very free flowing, bouncy, like its talking to you... basically a top notch phish tune.

this song, waiting all night, fuego, snow, wingsuit, wombat... like these a whole lot.

Agreed. I think most of the Wingsuit songs were written with a lot more care and intent than the tunes they've written since Story of the Ghost. Every note and every pause seems perfectly placed and placed with purpose. It's great song writing IMO, even if it's not as avant garde as their earlier stuff.

Oh  didn't see that one in there. Don't like that song. Or at least, it needs to be sung by somebody else who is not a member of Phish. Thems high notes are hard. Every time I hear it I think of this:

^^lol, its novel, yes, but i like the attempt to musically express snow... even if the vocal harmony could use some work. if you like we can replace snow with 555.

^^^i'm with you though, doug. I find these songs a bit superior to the songs from joy or undermind... not that the songs from these albums are poor i like many of them too, but the song writing here grabs my attention more so. theres some nice beauty here and gives me "that feeling i forgot". ah phish. now if the concerts weren't full of stinky hippies i might actually go see them again. ;) ;) ;) :shh:

This is a good song. Shame it got cut but maybe they'll still play it. I hope so.
Is it based off the 6/23/2012 light>paug? We might...never know.

Very phishy sounding to me, as well.

"Maybe that bird" is the same melody as "whoah Fee"

I really like this song.
