I don't see why we don't just put covers in their respective places in this thread....

I mean... We will talk about Phish versions of the song, not the original artists.... Y'know?

Zappa is the man. Was the man. Whatever. It's funny but 'Peaches' is probably my least favorite song of his that I've heard.

I was listening to Freak Out! earlier today and I realized that I maybe, just maybe, like it better than Sgt. Pepper's. I certainly think it's more musically advanced anyway.

I certainly do.

To me, Zappa is 1000X more interesting than The Beatles.

'Absolutely Free' and 'We're Only in it for the Money' are also far superior in my eyes.

The orginal Mothers of Invention is one of those bands for me right up there with Phish and The Grateful Dead.

^Is it fair to compare I guess I meant? I mean the beatles are well, the Beatles, but then there is everyone else?

I was not a HUGE Zappa fan, Although I admire and own some the Beatles seemed to be top on the food chain as far as the start goes...

While I agree, I certainly love everything from Rubber Soul through to Abbey Road.

But the Mothers are where it's at!

"I Am The Slime" is my favorite Zappa song ever. I always wondered if Phish ever covered it, because that would be pretty awesome.
His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.
