^^That package will be sweeeet. Anyway this show (11/29/97) has been the highlight of my friggin day. The show is awesome and I was looking for mentionable Harry Hood's on the board and couldn't find it so I'm posting it here. The Hood from this show is awesome and people who haven't heard it should seek it out and listen! Enjoy!

I think Ghost mentioned this allready but I figured I would refresh everybodies thoughts and anybody who hasn't read this post yet. The 7/11/00 from Deer Creek is totally a must have. If that night is any indication of the other two, then there's a few more.

Volume 17 or as i call it Intro to Story of a Ghost. set 2 is tweezer-licous. Disc 3 is Hood-tastic, and the gin filler is intoxicating.
Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.

It's probably been stated already, but 7/22/97 is must have to hear how a segue played perfectly really works.

word. 12-14-95 II is another PRIME example of seques and how also they can take basic, standard songs and jam them out

i've ran it into the ground, but 10/30/98 II has a good segue. I don't know if you guys would approve, but it seems pretty tight to me.

And it's the filler for LP 16, so you can acquire it with a nice, crisp sbd.

although it is short, the 10/30/98 second set IS very nice and flows well.. it's barely an hour, they could have thrown 1 more song in! :-/

everytime someone asks me to "burn them a disk of phish from beginners," I always sit there and try to come up with a good playlist that can fit on 1-2 disks...i fail everytime. I always end up giving them A Live One, because I think it pretty much sums up what Phish is about...you have your jams (which are included with staples like Stash, Tweezer, YEM) and also some regular songs that are nice (Bouncing). I usually cap it off with a Fluffhead and call it a night.

But some of my all time favs include: 12/7/97, 4/3/98, 12/30/93, 12/29/97, 12/31/95, 8/14/09, 2/25/03, 12/14/95, 5/7/94

list goes on...

I still maintain that a good, solid introductory show is 7-8-00. Yes, it helps that it's an official release.

80's (Bar band days, something magical in the making)

12.1.84 - upstair at Nectars

10.30.85 - first known "Harry Hood"

11.23.85 - Goddard cafeteria, Mike has epiphany realizing music is his path

5.3.85 - Page's first sit in with Phish. 3 sets. Scarlet Begonias > Eyes of the World

8.21.87 - Ian's farm, great jams and hilarious segues throughout

3.12.88 - Gamehendge in it's entirety for the first time!

7.30.88 - First Colorado run, Fishman loses his mind and misses first 2 sets lost in the woods

5.28.89 - Phish festival at Ian's. Classic show

Early 90's (Phish's tightest playing. Hard to find a bad show)

6.16.90 - Three set masterpiece.

9.13.90 - 11 songs debuted, including Stash and Tube, first official tour

12.31.90 - First real New Year's gig. A must hear.

3.31.91 - First Cali run. Really the whole 4 night run is Phish at their early best.

8.3.91 - First "real" Phestival. Amy's farm. Cherry on top of Giant Country Horns tour.

11.16.91 - One of the greatest YEM's of all time. Must hear.

3.13.92 - Big Black Furry Antelope!

4.6.92 - Must hear shows in the month of April in 92, this one in particular

7.25.92 - Carlos Santana joins Phish

2.20.93 - Segue fest!

5.8.93 - An amazing show, second set falls in with some of the greatest.

8.2.93 - A rarity delight. One of my personal favorites.

8.11.93 - Simpson theme show

8.20.93 - First Red Rocks show. Top notch from start to finish.

12.31.93 - Phish tank. Great end to a fantastic year.

Mid 90's (Phish jamfests are born, improv takes over)

5.7.94 - "Tweezefest" Considered by many to be a top 5 caliber show

5.13.94 - Some of the first true Phish improv takes place here

6.17.94 - The O.J. show. A must hear for any true phan.

6.26.94 - Gamehendge first set. Hoist second set.

7.16.94 - My favorite show of all time!!! An absolute must hear!

10.31.94 - White album. Legendary month of November to follow.

6.22.95 - Second set: Theme -> Tweezer -> Reprise (Yeah, 3 songs.. wow)

10.11.95 - Maybe the best second set of the year.

12.14.95 - Once again, maybe the best second set of the year.

12.31.95 - This show needs no introduction. Top 3 Phish show on my list.

8.13.96 - Second night of a legendary Deer Creek run. Live Phish 12.

8.16 & 8.17.96 - Clifford Ball. Incredibly well played from start to finish.

10.31.96 - Remain in Light. This show would influence Phish for years to come.

11.2.96 - The famed "Crosseyed Antelope"

12.6.96 - Vegas blowout. Claypool. Harpua. Elvis. Nuff said...

Late 90's and 00' (Summer shed and arena kings, cow funk and monster jams)

2.17.97 - Amazing show all the way through from Amsterdam.

3.1.97 - Very highly circulated Europe show. The funk begins to show itself.

7.1 & 7.2.97 - Huge Ghost jam and another three song set. Stash -> Llama, Wading

11.16.97 - Huge Ghost and some super funk. Fall 97, need I say more.

11.22.97 - Second night of legendary Hampton run. Considered by many as one of the greatest.

11.23.97 - Set 2: Gin -> Disease -> Low Rider - > Disease, Bold as Love

12.6.97 - The funkiest jam of the tour. Tweezer -> Izabella -> Jam -> Twist -> Piper

12.7.97 - Must hear of the fall 97 tour. Spectacular first set. Very well known.

7.28.98 - Very cool setlist

8.15.98 & 8.16.98 - Lemonwheel festival. Must hear shows!

11.2.98 - Dark side of the moon and even outside of the musical costume, Grade A Phish.

12.28 - 12.31.98 - Phish is officially the Madison Square Garden house band!

7.24.99 - Best Alpine show ever! Huge Fluffhead w/ Alumni Blues in the encore.

9.29.99 - Massive Mikes segue fest. Best show of the tour IMO.

12.11.99 - Magnificent setlist. Must hear 99 show.

12.31.99 - Unanimously considered Phish's peak performance.

5.21 & 5.22.00 - Phish's hardest ticket at that point in time. Radio City.

6.14.00 - Infamous Fukuoka show. Live Phish 4.

7.11.00 - One of the greats. Moby Dick show at Deer Creek.

9.14.00 - Darien jam. One of Phish's best jams of all time. A must hear.

11.7.00 - Strong performance. The last show before Hiatus number one.

Post Hiatus (Wonderful highlights, awful low points)

2.28.03 - Well known, very well played. Destiny returns. Amazing BOTT.

7.15.03 - Mr.Completely. A must hear post hiatus jam.

7.29.03 - Rarities throughout. Very well played for the most part.

8.2 & 8.3.03 - IT festival. A very fun listen.

12.1.03 - Holdsworth returns to the stage. Best of the 4 night run.

12.2.03 - 20th anniversary show. Incredibly under-rated show! Wild second set.

12.29.03 - The original Ghost -> Twist -> Boogie set. Set the standard for many similar sets to come.

6.19 & 6.20.04 - Possibly the best two shows post hiatus. Something special was in the air.

This was a very difficult list to compile. I had to really search through my collection of 350 shows to come up with my favorites from each era. I hope this is some help to those who are in need of a list of the greatest shows. 8.93, 11.94, 12.95, and 11.97 are some months that you cannot go wrong with. Any show from those four months is going to be legendary.

Unless your into trading and want lossless qality files look no more. This site should have any phish show you would ever want.. its missing a few sbd's but the only one missing that matters that much is 11-2-96. And i could upload that to media fire if you want.

7.21.91 Arrowhead Ranch does a lot for me. I just love those Giant Country Horns. This show would be a the top of my list of must-have shows.
