Cover of a Rolling Stone in Feb 03?

Tributes to Lennon? Hendrix?

Terrapin Station on 8-9-98?

Water in the Sky to open show on 12-30-99?

Rock and Roll at RCMH 2000?

(Obviously I am leaving some out, these are the ones that popped in my head).

You think them doing "Carolina" in either North or South Carolina is the most appropriately placed Phish song ever?

Not only excellent placement within the show and appropriate placement for the date, but I think it was perfectly placed within Phish's overall career and well placed in terms of time since Jerry's death. This is the one for me.... so far.

Gotta go with 7/12/99

Foreplay-> Longtime show opener.

That shit was sick.First I realized what they were playing. Then I realized that we were not far from Boston. Then I realized this was the bands Triumphant return to the Good woods after a 5 year exile by the previous venue owners. And I could see so many people around me working the same thought patterns out.

By the time Trey belted out "Its been such a long Time" ...

Well the place collectively lost its shit.

May be the best show opener I've ever seen.

Fluff Hampton may edge iot out because we had been deprived for so long. But not by much.

Playing Peaches multiple times on the 93 New Years run was appropriate. Zappa died on 12/4/93.

Terrapin Station on 8-9-98

Oh hell yes. That was magical!

Asheville this year had a Halley's Comet that was nice for the "central part of town" that was more than festive.

Harpua at The Went, picking up where they left off the year before, we called that one!

Old Home Place this past fall in CHARLOTTESVILLE

Foreplay Longtime was my favorite too! Right up there is Fluff at Hampton

This is a very tough question, but now that I think about it, I totally agree with the Terrapin placement. I'm convinced the band knew they were going to do this for several days before because there was an excitement to all of the shows beforehand, but especially in VA Beach that night.

I also liked the Carini encore following the Carini Antelope on 4/3/98.

That was pretty cool, but the part that everyone misses is that the guy singing the song hates Charlottesville

He leaves his home that he loves to move to Charlottesville because of a girl. Girl likes someone else, guy drinks a lot, cries about his old home, wishes he was dead.
