I'm a Man, during the Gin from Camden 99 is awesome. The night before in Maryland they did Sweet Emotion teases during Mike's and that was sweet too. :D

Do you feel like we do during 2001 at Hampton 99.
During the New Year's 93 show they tease Peaches in like 4 or 5 songs!

Stash during 2001 at Cinci 03 was delicious!

not sure if this was mentioned yet but this show i'm listening to right now (7/13/94) just tripped me out hard! they started Cavern and Trey started singing Wilson, the song keeps going in a Cavern type flavor and then goes into the chorus of Cavern when it usually says "Can you Still Have Fun?"

crazy.

Yes I noticed the Let It Be ending to Sleeping Monkey. How cool.

I love those theme sets, 11/27/98 (Wipeout) and 7/11/00 (Moby Dick).

Obviously the 3/20/93 is brilliant, Trey was pissed at Mike right?

and...they were teasing MJ songs in October '95 leading up to when they played Quadrophenia instead! That's brilliant. No other band has that much creativity.

"Meatstick" teases during the intro to "Run Like an Antelope" in a crazy-ass second set on 6-29-00

you're half right. it's in there, but i wouldnt call it a composite list. it doesnt include original Phish songs, which count as teases as well. Plus it only lists the most common teases.

There is a great tease in the Antelope from 7/18/93 :

http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=24508

Its hard to even call it a tease, its a damn full-on fakeout when they start that Brother and don't play it.

yeah, trey is PISSED.

6-10-94, short vocal tease of "what a man" by en vogue, during tweezer...pretty sure it's trey scatting it real quick during one of the breaks in between verses.
So it seems... that the world keeps on turnin'

Yes, I totally remember that.

That first set was LONG! I was sure they were done after Birds. Unfortunately... the length evened out the so-so playing.

But that Weekapaug was definitely the highlight of the set for me. I remember being like... Are they playing Peter Gabriel, or is my head turned to mush? Turns out it was both.

There was a "Lion sleeps tonight" tease in the vocal jam after YEM in Denver '03. they then just busted into an all-accapella lion sleeps tonight. complete with mike singing: O-WIM-O-WEH-O-WIM-O-WEH

very cool.

I was listening to some long jam... i think it arose out of the ambience of a 97 YEM, and it was a tease of that Frampton song that's more famous than Show Me the Way... the one that has the bass holidng it down alone and then Frampton comes in with his crazy voice box solo or whatever it is that he makes that sound with. Does anyone know the song I'm talking about....?

I listened to 11-19-92 last week and Trey, and the whole band in some parts, teases the theme from All in the Family. They do it during Divided Sky right where it gets slow, then again during Antelope, then seconds later Trey teases the Lizards riff during Antelope then plays one of the Antelope riffs. Its hard to explain, but you'd think it was badass if you heard it.

I swear to God I hear more "Manteca" teases nowadays than anything else. It's almost as if I am imagining them.

7/2/97...Stash to open the second set. About 16:40-16:50, a nice little Timber (Jerry) tease. The whole song is an insane jam. From about 20:20 on Trey latches onto a nice little something. It sounds so good that you could imagine it being a tease. Thoughts?

Trey just teases the main opening solo in a different key. It's in the first jam segment. Listen closely.

EDIT - realised I made a horrible mistake in the post you quoted. I was talking specifically about the YEM. Maybe Charlie Dirksen's reviews will help you find it
