Well I went to 10 shows this Leg 1 and NO Divided Sky, WTF.

Got 2 YEMs though so at least that made up for last year with 19 shows and only 1 YEM (on the 17th show)

my first show, i got an YEM with no vocal jam (alpine 2009). trey busted out the 5 neck guitar. Seen the first acoustic set at 8. Got their debut of show of life, instant karma!, and killing in the name. My first indoor show was UIC in 2011 which was also the first time i broke a bone in my body :wtf: (broke my tail bone falling down the slippery ass stairs) :x

I hate to piss in Cheerios (or do I love it?)... but were the first acoustic sets not at Shoreline in '98?

Fest 8 was a better acoustic set than either of those however.

man, i love when people piss in my cheerios  But, yes, i guess you are right. i did not know that. I just remember when 8 was coming up Rolling Stone had an article and it said
"Phish Follow Halloween Show With First-Ever Acoustic Set At Fest 8" so i thought it was their first.

^ True dat.

This is not a thread-specific question whatsoever, but are there seriously any printed musical magazines worth a shit & the cover price anymore? If so, which one(s)? They all seem to have sucked for many years...

i like this stat!

ok, general 54 shows since 94 (if you are interested in where i been, plug my page in http://fetedinnerhorde.com/mulchphish.html )

278 different songs have been played (34% of songs Phish have played).
The average number of songs per show is 20.3.
The average amount of times each song was played is 3.95.
There were 104 onetimers
1112 total songs have been played in the selected shows.

There were 51 two set shows
There were 3 three set shows
1 songs were in a three show rotation.
8 songs were in a four show rotation.
24 songs were in a five show rotation.

weird stuff.
2 spocks brains.
8 carinis (seems like a lot to me considering)
9 bdtnl that seems like a lot. it could be worse, it could be 9 tte (only 4)
i have seen 7 ya mars (my old band in the mid 90's even covered it)

i have seen phish every day of the week, mostly on fridays

i like my personal venue stat. especially the #1 place i have seen phish more than any other

You have seen shows in 22 venues.

You have seen all of the shows played at 13 venues.
The most played venue where you saw every show was Empire Polo Club (3 shows)

Red Rocks Amphitheatre - 8 (15%)
Thomas & Mack Center - 7 (13%)
Shoreline Amphitheatre - 6 (11%)
Empire Polo Club - 3 (6%)
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - 3 (6%)
William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre - 3 (6%)
Coors Amphitheatre - 3 (6%)
Spreckels Theatre - 2 (4%)
Greek Theatre - 2 (4%)
Hampton Coliseum - 2 (4%)
Gorge Amphitheatre - 2 (4%)
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater - 2 (4%)
Ventura County Fairgrounds - 2 (4%)
Hollywood Bowl - 1 (2%)
Embarcadero Center - 1 (2%)
Long Beach Arena - 1 (2%)
Toyota Park - 1 (2%)
University of California Los Angeles - 1 (2%)
Sports Arena - 1 (2%)
Cricket Pavilion - 1 (2%)
Great Western Forum - 1 (2%)
The Aladdin Theatre - 1 (2%)

i never saw a show in january, april, may or june

i found this stat really interesting. please understand my numbers would be much higher if i lived on the east coast, maybe somewhere between ohio and new england. i live on the west coast and its a days drive between shows here. but the most interesting stat to me personally, not weird per se, but interesting

Before hiatus - 29 (54%)
After hiatus - 25 (46%)

there is some equilibrium that has been reached with my satisfaction from the band from initial joy of discovery, 1st show, comfort in the zone, watching something uncomfortable happen, hiatus, watching a car wreck and just walking away (i attended every vegas show except 2004. its not that i couldnt go, its that they were already gone at that point). then the resuscitation and then new life and now this new vigorous joy that the band and us are sharing. i am normally cynical yet cautiously optimistic, but i was not prepared for the true joy that phish 3.0 in 2012 has brought

i have only seen phish on my birthday (and on the east coast) once. that was march 6th, 2009

i have seen phish play with bill kreutzman, phil lesh, and bob weir (red rocks/shoreline/shoreline)

I live, literally, less than 10 minute drive from festival 8 polo grounds. i saw pearl jam play on the polo field way before coachella in 93. phish asked people for ideas for cool venues in an edition of the schvice. i did a site survey, talked with the venue, and had them agree to concert area, 5 acres of campgrounds, $250,000 + traffic planning, security, and insurance. again, this was prior to coachella becoming a trendy camping festival (coachella couldnt have camping cuz of woodstock riots, but i had not even envisioned a phish festival there. i was just desperate for them to play more than 1 date a year in southern cali).

and literally as i was drafting my proposal to dionysis (more like "heres the details to make it happen, please play here"), the word of the hiatus came about. so i did what i could. blew everything i had to do the 8 show end of pre hiatus tour (7 dates plus the tonight show "twist" appearance that my radio job allowed me to get hooked up with thanks to electra records)

my girlfriend bought me a birthday gift in 2009. my birthday with phish on friday night in hampton (her 1st phish show... dont worry, she deserved it and has earned it ever since)

we did red rocks (the venue i have seen phish the most at, 8 times, 4 each in 96 and 09), shoreline, gorge, and chicago. and then after some summer camping and visiting, we came home and phish finally played for me on that fine manicured lawn... as a halloween festival, way way way bigger and better than i had imagined it almost 10 years earlier. it is also my last stat with most shows seen in a year at 13 in 2009 (still wish it was ladyland tho :p )

after these last 4 cali shows, i do realize, especially with what might be described as "vanilla" setlists with i think only 3 1st time seen songs for me for 4 shows, how little these stats actually mean. these guys are arguably playing better than they ever have (long beach, sf 3, and st lois being standouts for this leg alone), and it really doesnt matter anymore what songs they decide to play for me. i am still chasing my tela and brother and daniel, but i now fondly remember a show in san diego in 95 on a little island type thing, some friends unfortunately had car trouble and arrived late, missing the first set. they asked me what they played. and i was gobstruck by set 1 (my opinion is phish is a consistantly better 1st set band) and i couldnt answer specifically except to say "it really didnt matter what they played, its how they played it"

i am truly blessed, stoked, and grateful to have that same feeling, only stronger, every time i see them the deeper we get into 3.0

oh yeah, and the stats are awesome anyway. ZZYZX is the man for facilitating our weird hobby. and i think ohkeepa.com cooks a really delicious grilled cheese. garlic, tomatoes, the works

ETA: i just realize i have seen beauty of a broken heart played over one third of the times it was played. if i caught 1 more rendition (my chance was 6/7/09), i would be in the 50% club for that awesome song (thanks page)

After 16 shows, I've only seen one set that was entirely repeats, my seventh show, set 2. This does not even include encores.

Phish's 2 most played venues are also the 2 venues I've seen more shows at than any other. Not weird I guess.

Well I guess I should qualify that as the 2 venues they've been playing since MY Phish Birth. Nectars watered down the drinks and the Fronts bathroom was no good for sniffing blow. Glad I never had to labor through a show at either.

I do not know if these stats are weird, but I think they might be. 180 different songs in 21 shows is the thing that stands out most to me. I feel like I have seen so many Loving Cups and Rock and Rolls, but it turns out I have seen just as many Fuck Ur Faces and Icculi. That second set NYE this year really threw some shit off.

Also this:

Ok so at Alpine in 2012 they tease Frankie Says during light. The next show I go to (14 stops down the road)
In St. Louis, they play a killer Frankie Says- gotta love when shit like this happens

Ok I got one for you guys, on 11/1/14 I saw three firsts for me with Dog Faced Boy, Fuck Your Face, and Horn. Pretty hard to get that many "first time heard" in one set, LET ALONE in a row, after seeing 46 shows!
I also got my first Lengthwise, Manteca jamming, and Star Spangled Banner at this show

I don't know if this is a stat or not; I guess not, but I'm gonna say it anyway:

I have only the odd-numbered Elektra LivePhish releases, of the original 20.

Lately I've been tempted to start getting those other ten even numbered ones and complete the set, but then I really like that I have just the odd ones.
