Niagara 95 Release Nov 12

Postby piper » Tue Sep 17, 2013 8:51 pm

December 1995 ranks among the best months in Phish history and soon fans will get another taste of that powerful month when the band releases Niagara Falls on November 12 according to Alternative Distribution Alliance.

As per the ADA listing, Niagara Falls will be released on CD and contains the quartet's entire December 7, 1995 performance from the Niagara Falls Convention Center in Niagara Falls, NY. This show features many highlights including the "Mike's Song" > "Weekapaug Groove" segment with nothing in the middle and an even more gorgeous than usual "Slave To The Traffic Light."

Here's a look at the setlist from that memorable night:

12/07/1995 Niagara Falls Convention Center

Set 1: The Old Home Place > The Curtain > AC/DC Bag, Demand > Rift, Slave to the Traffic Light, Guyute, Bouncing Around the Room, Possum, Hello My Baby

Set 2: Split Open and Melt, Strange Design > Taste That Surrounds, Reba[1], Julius, Sleeping Monkey > Sparkle > Mike's Song -> Weekapaug Groove[2] -> Digital Delay Loop Jam, Amazing Grace

Encore: Uncle Pen

[1] No whistling.
[2] Unfinished.

The Melt jam included a tease of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Reba included a Pop Goes the Weasel tease and did not contain the whistling ending. Weekapaug was unfinished.

All new 3-CD set recorded live on December 7, 1995 at Niagara Falls Convention Center in Niagara Falls, NY. December 1995 was a universally recognized high point for Phish. The band found themselves at Niagara Falls - straddling the border between the United States and Canada beside the fastest flowing, highest, most powerful waterfall in North America.

"Niagara Falls" was recorded by Paul Languedoc to 2-track DAT and mastered by Fred Kevorkian. Poor Heart (the slow version) from the soundcheck is included on the third disc.

Everyone who pre-orders from Phish Dry Goods will receive a Limited Edition David Welker Niagara Falls screenprinted postcard, created exclusively for this release. Measures 4.25"x6" (while supplies last). Bundles are available at Dry Goods with this release, including the new 2014 Calendar and a reprise of an original Fall 1995 Tour t-shirt.

"Niagara Falls" is available for pre-order. Items in this department will ship on or around November 8, 2013.

Crazy. I was probably standing right next to you. I remember it being brutally cold waiting in line to get into the venue. But, it was well worth it once we got in.

Do you remember all the people dropping? Carried one guy out on a stretcher.

I've gotten like 80 e-mail reminders about buying this - hard copies must not be selling well.

I don't know why they just don't offer them as downloads only.

Who wants 3 cds with a "limited edition handbill"?

Sorry Red light
