List some songs you think Phish would absolutely destroy

Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones)
Up On Cripple Creek (The Band)
Don't Do It (The Band)
Tin Man (America)
Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite (The Beatles)
Space Oddity (David Bowie)
Hurdy Gurdy Man (Donovan)
Third Stone From The Sun (Hendrix)

...and play another We're An American Band (Grand Funk Railroad)

^^Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite is a great idea, seeing them play that would be amazing.

Just imagine what sound effect wonderment we would get during the tripped out, circus sounding portions of the song.
Read the Book, for that matter read any book.

agreed! good choice for sure.

i'd love to see them play 'In The Light' by Led Zep. i know Trey covered it with 70vp already, but Phish would absolutely kill it.

Dead Flowers by the Stones is one of my alltime favorites and would be a sweet little ditty.

maybe John Denver's 'Thank God I'm a Country Boy' as a new Fishman number...
the floor will have its way it seems

^^yeah, In The Light would be perfect for Phish. The one 70 volt parade show I saw, they played that and Space Oddity, which were done pretty well, but nowhere near as good as Phish could do

i've posted this a few times before, but i think this could work with Mike on vocals...Give it a listen. Nice opportunities for Trey to solo...

^ that song is a guilty pleasure.

I've often said I'd love for them to cover "Appetite for Destruction" for Halloween - but only if it is in the Spectrum, and I am there.

In the Light would be cool - that's he song that locked me in to Led Zeppelin.

Other cool Zep songs they could do - "Tangerine" "Your Time is Gonna Come" "Thank You" "Hey Hey What Can I Do" and "The Ocean"

I'm gonna go listen to some Zeppelin.

2nd on the Yes

They actually teased Yes's "Heart of the Sunrise" at the beginning of 7/30/97. It's soft but you can hear it.

In the Light will happen.

I would also believe we'll see more dead as well as more classic Rock

Black Dog
Walk this Way
Satisfaction
You Really Got Me
Pride and Joy
The Boys are Back in Town
Bad to the Bone
Whole Lotta Love
Sultans of Swing
Kashmir
Paradise City
American Woman

One thinks it would be reallly cool if they ended a set with Page doing a solo rendition of Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin). ;D

I could not agree more with Don't Do It, especially with the giant country horns!
Other band songs like Jawbone, Up on Cripple Creek, King Harvest, and W.S. Walcott Medicine Show would also be sick

Flashlight, Parliment funkadelic
The boys are back in town, Thin Lizzy
Fly by night, Rush
Sultans of swing, Dire Straits (not sure how keys would factor in, though)

I'd love to see them add another Stevie cover to the repertoire and bust out a Higher Ground... How awesome would a nasty Ghost -> Higher Ground be?

One has also thought that would be sweet. Especially if they jammed it out a bit and Cactus took a raging synth bass solo!
