Following his appearance at the Theater at Madison Square Garden last month, Trey Anastasio returned to an amphitheatre stage last evening at Jones Beach. Robert Randolph & The Family Band opened for Eric Clapton at the Wantagh, New York venue and Anastasio emerged during "A Little Sister" jam, which went into "Deliver Me." "Deliver Me" then segued into a Bo Diddley inspired jam which included a moment of silence in honor of Diddley. This eventually led into "I Need More Love." Anastasio did not appear with Clapton's band, although Randolph did sit in, appearing for the "I've Got My Mojo Working" encore.

I saw this on DMB Warehouse lounge. Plus, the poster talked to CK5 who said Summer '09

If it's summer 09, they have to be working the plans out now... I don't think that's happening. I think they have to strategically plan this the right way for it to work at all. This planning might take some time... If Phish comes back, it will be HUGE and that is a problem already. I just want them to do it right and it to work. I want them back so bad without fizzling out again. That's just the way I'm seeing the situation. I'm willing to wait a bit for them to make this a reality without rushing in and fucking it up.

you know, I really don't think it will be as huge as some of us Phish fans like to think.

Phish wasn't selling out shows at all post-hiatus.

Sure, its big in terms of the people who are hardcore and the scene it creates at each show, but that number isn't nearly as big as I imagine it.

I would consider the reorganization of the touring crew and all that being "bigger" than any comeback could be, media and fan-wise.

If that actually turns out to be true can I make a request to The Boys?
Please start the tour with a Festival? So everyone gets in? PLEASE?!

Also, could Phil and Friends come too?

Thanx!

Yeah, it won't be near as big. A lot of people really don't care enough to see Phish any more. I'd probably check out a show if they came near by, but as far as traveling for them, I don't think so.

^Now Coventry is definitely a place that I hope never to go back to. They should play a nice mid-country festy if anything. For everyone's sake, gas ain't cheap.

after thinking about this way too much, i think i would like to hear Free as opening number. yeah, Free. with a nice, extended, sparkling intro (ie: 5/16/95) before the big crash and main theme. it makes sense. i feel the feeling i forgot and that whole bit, you know?

^ I could dig that. I think it'd be very cool to start the first show by having Trey create a guitar sample/loop thing similar to the one that he ended "The Curtain With" with at Coventry. But this time fade it in, instead, probably before the band even walked on stage.

Whoever said Friday, (i am too lazy to find it, sorry) I agree it would be played. However, Friday is traditonally a set closer...so maybe at the end of set I (as long as they DO feel the feeling...)

I wonder if opening with DWD would work? (especially for Trey) (no offense buddy...)

here me out on this one...just a thought

anyone notice the name of bonus cd they are giving out with the new Walnut Creek DVD?

PHISH: LEFT NUTS

now what if...WHAT IF this cd was not infact other unreleased walnut creek tunes (which there is no tracklist for by the way...coincidence?) but is a secret message of re-unification (another "letter from Trey" perhaps) in which all band members symbolically "give their left nut" and put the band back together...and then the cd turns out to be the new tunes trey and tom (and jon, page and mike) have written and recorded?

it sounds out there but if you really think about, I mean REALLY think about it...it kinda makes sense.

*rips 9th gravity bong*

but seriously...i think this rumor has legs

I think what they meant by spend some time together and only the 4 of us there means just to start playing again.....fucking jamming. Then after practicing a while decide what to do. And you know they've got some bad ass songs they've been writing and saving.
