What's up OKP, good morning. My coffee's a really dank dark roast today.

It's Friday and I've been kicking ass all week, not about to stop now.

Yes gets inducted into the R&RHoF tonight, so that's pretty sweet, bout fn time. What else? Oh yeah we freakin' suddenly bombed Syria last night, (?) I'm sure that's probably fine.
:wtf:

Have yourself a great Friday, friends ~ there's more to life than death!

Happy Saturday!

Went to bed before 10 last night, woke up 6 this morning. I wish my body wouldn't take the phrase "early to bed early to rise" so literally. It's 7:15 and I've already been up for almost 2 hours. That's just silly.

This showed up in my Facebook "memories" this morning. This happened in 2012:
"A conversation with my mom this weekend: Mom: Are you coming with us to get pedicures and stone massages? Me: I don't think so. I really have no interest in that sort of thing. Mom: Just come with us. It'll be fun. Me: Mom, you realize that would be like me dragging you to a Phish show. Mom: Point made. We'll see you later."

Said goodbye to my teenager last night. She's spending spring break in Miami with her friend's family. I'm going to miss her, but his means I don't have to taxi this weekend wahooooo! I refuse to get in that damn car until I have to go to work on Monday. Viva la homebody!

Made lots of progress in my bedroom redo yesterday. Pretty stoked about how it's coming together. Still have one element to finish on the main wall and another big wall I have absolutely NO idea what I'm going to do with. You can't see it when you walk in the room, so I'm in no rush to finish painting it or figure out what I want to do with it yet. I really enjoy the process of figuring out a plan, putting all the work in, and then watching it come together HOPEFULLY like I imagined it in my head...or better than I imagined it is cool too :-)
I've been doing this a long time and have seen lots of changes most of which I can't fucking stand...but I still go anyway because I'm there for the MUSIC and so I tolerate all that other bullshit because I DO get the point. So there :-)

Ridiculously sweet weather this weekend. Rainy all week and then sunny and 75 all weekend. Had the end of the NHL season, the Masters and Breath of the Wild all keeping me busy. And then the return of Saul last night. Good times.

Good morning OKPers! Easter eve is upon us. Have a friend's birthday party later tonight and lots to do today. Enjoying some quiet relaxing coffee time before I get into the day. Reading Kevin's post about bombing Syria, it seems like old news now that we dropped the mother load on Afghanistan. Now that America is great again, we gotta spread it round.

Wishes for a Happy Easter and/or spring rebirth.

I've had the house to myself this weekend. Perfect timing because I'm working on a project, and the house was finally quiet enough that I could work from home, instead of going to the office. I am roughly 3 times more productive when I am somewhere quiet away from the office. Knocked out roughly 10 hours of work (office time) in 4.5 hours (with a 15 minute "jam along to He's Gone - Dick's Picks Vol 21" break.) Let me tell you, I felt like a champ. Normally things are too chaotic around the house to even consider working from home.

Seriously folks, Dick's Picks Vol. 21 - 11.1.85 - It is a real treat.

I am spending as much time as possible outdoors today, on my porch right now, because the rain has passed and it is now one of those rare, perfect spring days here in northern Illinois. Would be a shame to waste it.

To those celebrating Easter or Passover: I wish you peace and good times on these holy days. To everyone else: well... I wish you peace and good times too. :D
Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.

I did the same. Just any excuse to sit out in the backyard in the sun...was letting the cat outside to wander as well. Even if it was just for a few minutes or a few hits. Feels good.

The weekend was just a pure sporgy of NBA and NHL playoff games. OT games every night in hockey and the first NBA games were surprisingly good when they're usually mostly duds. Also, go Preds. Anyone but the Hawks.

^ Sounds like life is pretty tough for Seanerz these days...just curious, why do you just keep popping in and out of Vegas? Seems like you've been doing it quite a bit since you moved. You should post some pics of that ocean.

Heya Levi, I still have my house in Vegas. Vegas is waaay more affordable than San Diego!

^Good Lord, Roy...

Good morning OKP! Was back in Las Vegas this weekend and planted my chunky butt down in a sports book and watched hockey, basketball, and baseball... ALL WEEKEND LONG!!!

I did that anyway and it wasn't even Vegas. Had a lot of great games on. Heck, they've been on all week. Getting like 3/4 NBA games and maybe 3/4 NHL games every night. Sometimes I completely forget the Tigers are even on.

^ I hear ya about baseball. The Padres STINK, so I'm thankful for Stanley Cup hockey! Anaheim advances and hopefully Chicago will lose today... Still pulling for Edmonton.

Yeah Go Preds! Go Leafs! and most importantly go Pens! Would be sick if the Pens played the Preds in the finals, I could go...no idea how much tickets would be

And yeah, the Pirates have had an up and down start to the year, and with Marte getting suspended I think that blows any chance at making the playoffs

Did the Record Store thing yesterday, got up around 6:30 and was there an hour early. Got everything I went for too. I shouldn't have gotten the Jason Isbell record, but the guy I was talking to in line grabbed it for me and handed it over when I told him I didn't get one. It was really cool.

Also got the Dead release and Vic Chesnutt's release. Kinda disappointed with the Dead record as the vocals only play out of the right side channel. Don't know why they would do that, but all the instruments sound great, Jerry's guitar really pops. Haven't heard Vic's record yet, but the Isbell record sounds phenomenal. I'm positive Vic's will too, it was originally produced by Michael Stipe.
