Definitely '67-'72 range as well. Throw in '77 and the acoustic shows from the mid-80's and that's probably all I listen to.

Sorry dooj, I meant to click reply, then I hit EDIT, and I completely ruined your post. Sorry bro, that was an epic post. I'll try to make it up later by re-upping those videos at least, though I doubt if I could track down all those pictures.

Who is the Grateful Dead hahahahhahhaha
I love all the years, each one has something special
Love the Pig and Brent eras though

Keith had some sickness but I always find myself listening to the early stuff or late 70's-80's

I find Keith boring, especially when he would just constantly copy right off of Jerry. I did enjoy the stories of Jerry and Bob trying to get him lost in the music.

I thought Donna had her moments, she was 100 times better with JGB
Some of the JGB shows with her and Keith are out of this world good
I have opened for her band and she is super super nice, really enjoyed us youngin's still so into it

funny story- I was backstage after their first set the one time we opened for them and she comes back and says what did you think to me and I said it was great but I thought you could have belted a little more like you did at a certain show, forget which one from like 73 and she just laughed really hard and gave me a big hug

Everyone was looking at me like I was crazy for saying it, she enjoyed it though

for sure, he def has his moments though, I wish he dabbled in the organ etc more, he really just stayed with keys strictly which I think made him different than all the other pianists in the band

I like Donna, but that wail at times is too much.

Great in Music Never Stopped, horrific in Playing in the Band.

Where did you read that? That's pretty funny. Brent and Jerry interacted far more than Keith and Jerry, although I do think Keith's delicateness balanced their sound in the 70s. Brent jams are high energy.

Keith is the man, too bad the pills wrecked his playing by 78'...

For all the shit Donna takes, they still were some of the best years of the band....

I'm trying to get every show from 73'-74' right now, those are my two fav years of Keith, he shreds in 74'...

I don't stray far past 83' with the Dead....Jerry falls off a tad too much for me after 83'....

I do have every Bruce show and the Branford shows as well....Only Late-Era Dead i can listen too consistently...

Im saving 68'-71' for my 40's....Love Pigpen and got to meet TC years back, but want to save those Primal Years for later...

Great thread!!!

I will start posting some of my fav shows ASAP!!!

Heres one to hold ya over!!!

Keith's pill problem made him lazy in 78'-early 79'.....It actually starts in 77'....Go listen to Cornell, Keith is just following Jerry most of the time....Still a great show, but Keith was much better in 72'-74'.....Phil said Jerry hated when Keith would follow his runs...

Brent was much better with Jerry, too bad his sound SUCKED!!!!!

That's why I love Jeff in Furthur, he has Brents fury with Keiths sound....

I'm a fan of '85, and '89-'90. I can listen to just about anything from '66-'90. '90s are incredibly spotty. But then there is a gem like Vegas'94 which I listen to a ton.

"Fury" is the perfect word to describe Brent's style. I've listened to very little Furthur. I only hear what they play on channel 32, and I only get to listen to satellite radio when I drive my sister's car, which isn't very often.
