The pitter-patter drumbeat by John Bonham during the quiet parts of “Ramble On”

I've often wondered that myself.

I heard the Fare Thee Well setbreak music and thought it was good. I read about a CD being planned for later last year. Then I forgot about it. Now I remembered.

I've learned that this Neal Casal guy has been everywhere. I recently started listening to his stuff. (He's in The Chris Robinson Brotherhood that just caught my ear.)

That's really cool, Devin.

The more I listen, the more I like it.

Seen these guys a few times, but trying to get to know their original stuff a little better going into their show in March so I've been listening to this a lot...I like Old Barns, Reverend, Ryder's Song and Nine Days the most so far probably

Will probably move on to Handguns in a couple days
rather be on tour..

^Awesome. I just got into those guys myself around three/four years ago when I saw them open for Umphrey's. They keep doing New Year's here in Michigan so I've seen them every year for that which is great. I was the same way where I saw them a few times and then figured I need to just do a crash course on their material...they're so much better when you know all those tunes.

Interstates is one of the good ones. I love Barns, Rafters, Train Junkie, Freeborn Man (this is usually epic live), Dry County and What's Left of the Night is one of my favories.

Will probably move on to Handguns in a couple days

Probably my favorite album. That and When Sorrows Swim are probably the best for me. It's a really good time to get into the band since they're just pumping out quality stuff these days.

Beck - Sea Change

Must be in a chill mode since I'm busting out the chill albums. Sea Change is always a surprise to me since I was never that into Beck but this album knocked me over. So good.

Since the Dead said they were going to release the Cornell show on vinyl, it's been the Cornell show, plus the May 5th, 7th, and 9th:

^ So sweet

Another song about a mockingbird:

This was the first song I had heard by them:

Duendes?

Other local music that I've heard on the cool listener supported radio station here:

So they've been playing this because it has Leon Bridges:

And that led me to this:

A never ending stream of music to fill my head...

Listening to Iron Maiden for really the first time in my life. I've never gotten the urge to delve in, but I might go see 'em this summer so now's the time. I decided to start w/their newest album, holy shit. :wtf: I wish all the bands I like could be this good in their fourth decade.

^Dude, Book of Souls surprised me as well since many of the tunes are pretty dang good. There's a few duds in there but they can't all be winners. I think I like The Red and the Black the most. If you're seeing their latest tour, that album is a nice place to start...I saw the same tour last year and they play a lot off of that album. Still had the original lineup as well.

Yeah man. It's a 92 minute album by a band that's in their fourth decade ... and it's amazingly catchy, high energy, and even progressive in ways. Red and the Black might be my favorite too actually.

I've moved onto the Final Frontier, which is basically just as great but a different flavor. I'm really late to the Maiden party, but it's good to be here.

Right now I've got the Stones' Their Satanic Majesties Request goin. I used to hate on the Stones when I was a kid, out of some weird Beatles loyalty or something. I have a handful of Stones records now, but am still very much not familiar with any non-radio cuts. Except 2000 Man, because Kiss does it, and it's awesome.

They played it live on the tour as well. Was probably the longest tune of the night.

Wow, I'm curious what you'll think when you get to their actually great albums. I don't think I even own Final Frontier. I must have missed that one. Also, be aware, that Bruce left the band after Fear of the Dark so the two albums after that have a different singer. He's not bad but clearly not the same. Actually, their first album also has a different singer...he's very different and little more "punky" but I kind of like his voice and he screams really well. I think they had to kick him out due to drinking or something.

Right now I've got the Stones' Their Satanic Majesties Request goin. I used to hate on the Stones when I was a kid, out of some weird Beatles loyalty or something. I have a handful of Stones records now, but am still very much not familiar with any non-radio cuts.

Man, the Stones are so damn good. The Beatles vs Stones thing is a bit silly since they feel like very different types of bands to me. The Stones are what the Beatles could have been had they became a big touring band.

Matter of Life and Death was interesting in that they played that entire album for that tour. Can't say I didn't want more old stuff but it was pretty cool regardless. Killers is one of their weaker albums since it's mostly outtakes that didn't make it on the first album. I think the band was in a mess with their singer being kicked out so they just put out what they had left.

Always loved The Entertainer...
