Actually the top picture looks like Thunder in "Big Trouble in Little China" just before he blows himself up after Lo Pan was killed.

I would have that look on too if I was in shirt and tie and the room was 78 degrees.

lol, yep. Verdict is in; Pa likes the W00k. That thermostat is inaccurate, turns out. Pretty comfy in there ... & I don't always bunch up the bottom of my face like that top pic (but when I do, ... ). And I rarely don the Himalayan headband like in that bottom pic.

That's a beautiful lookin Jacob Thomas up there btw.

Grandson Jaime and I spent a couple of hours late yesterday at Six Flags Great Adventure and this is all we did in this order:

We voted Nitro our favorite of the night, although El Toro was pretty crazy.

^So cool.

Keeping it alive!

Top of the 6th (last inning), down 10-8, runner at 2nd, with 2 outs......NO PRESSURE!!
Yes, that's me coaching 1st (prob. my last).

Riley went 1 for 3 today with a strike out, fielders choice (nice contact on it), and a single. His batting avg. dipped to .556, on base % .556, and slugging % .667. Team lost 12-8 but came back down 10-1. I had to coach in the field instead of take book. If you don't like that I am going to call an obstruction on your 2nd baseman who is setting picks on my base runners in the baseline, then take your Generation Y (everybody ties) ass parenting back to the YMCA league. Some of us want to teach our kids the right way to play the game!

^They look so animated playing baseball at that age. Very cool.

Here's a pic of Jake and I looking very 'unanimated' just kind of noddin' off together after a busy morning of eating, pooping and staring off in wonderment at the world around us.

So as not to bore you (much) with vacation pics, while most of you were enjoying the sweet sounds of Phish, here's a little of what we were doing at Disney and on the cruise................

All right, here's the cheese that I just posted to facebook. This is the pic that the Disney people take as you board the ship and Marie purchased special t-shirts for it, so I was obliged to comply. Of course we had to pay 20 bucks for a 8x10 copy of the thing.

So if I had to wear the shirt, and pay the money, by golly, you're going to have to look at it.

Took off to San Diego for a much needed break, just before Thanksgiving I guess it was.

Here's takeoff. Later on, RI.

Image

Beer at the airport, sent this pic to my coworker, with whom I'd discussed the delights of the airport beer ... note the writing moleskin, which I'm glad to say I used a whole lot that day. Got a lot of writing scraps pulled together and sorted, and wrote a couple new things as well.

Image

Here are a few nice pictures from Morley Field, the disc golf course I try to live at whenever I'm in San Diego.

So here's just a few more, this first one, is of the hottest wings I ever had in my entire life. The sauce's name is "Ricockulous" ... <- probably not spelled right. Took me like twenty minutes to eat just two of them. Took the rest back to my brother's place, where I was able to eat two more .. but I never did finish 'em all.

Image

The Go Lounge, where my brother's new and unnamed band played a set (that's him in front there)

Image

That's Matt again, on the left, and yours for realz on the right. I'm sporting a SweetTooth T-shirt, which is Matt's other band, kind of on a hiatus right now I suppose it is.

The light and color in this one make it so warm and inviting. I want to lie down and take a nap in that sunbeam out there in the grass.

Jake and I celebrating his first St Patty's Day before I had too much Jameson.

Image

Added another of Jake with one of the Easter outfits we gave him. He was pretty chill on Sunday at the brunch for almost two hours, just taking it all in. I guess if you can be satisfied with a tube of hand cream, you can be satisfied with most things.

So this weekend was Riley's first taekwondo tournement. He won first place in Katas and second in sparring. Because his birthday was last month and he is so small they put him at 6-Blue belt. He was the only 6 year old blue belt....so he won first for katas (he DID stick it and would have won anyway). I know....I know.
So now I'm like "Who does he get to fight?" I'm not about to let him take a first for sparring because there are no other 6 blue belts. I was trying to get them to let Riley fight in the 7-8 division (which he truly is). They are talking about liability....blah blah blah. LONG story short......I get them to let Riley fight in 7-8 Green-Blue (which he is by 3 weeks...but now fighting kids almost 9). At this point I am thinking maybe I fucked up and he will get his ass kicked pretty bad. Riley went on to the finals and lost by one point (to a kid almost 9)! He took second place! Holy shit proud dad moment! :o :D

First place Katas

Trying to upload the fights.....(might be too long). The kids kept getting bigger with each fight.

Grats to Riley! He's gonna be a weapon some day!

I always liked Kata better than Kumite (sparring) anyways. But that's just my personal preference of not wanting to get punched in the face.

I was gonna say Kumite....but was not sure how many people would know what it is. Still trying to get these fighting videos up.
