My favorite misogynistic song ....................

Here's your ticket pack your bag
Time for jumpin' overboard
The transportation is here
Close enough but not too far,
Maybe you know where you are
Fightin' fire with fire

This one gets me every fuckin time man. Was written about his last day with his son Conor.

His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.

This is good shit right here, folks:

Sarah Jarosz is incredible, she's been kicking ass since she was a little kid. And now she's all grown up and beautiful and can play and sing like hell. Exciting to have talent like that coming up. And of course, Aoife O'Donovan, one of my very favorite vocalists in the whole wide world, kicking ass. That's a Joanna Newsom tune, by the way.

And here's her doing "Shankill Butchers" by The Decembrists:

His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.

^ Understandable reaction. I had a limited knowledge about the Shankill Butchers, but yeah, it's pretty dark. Some guy in the comments wrote something like "Fuck you yank hipster cunts writing songs you know fuck all about". I can understand the sentiment, but not very eloquently expressed. I think your first interpretation is how it was intended. I think good art often is dark, though. I'd like to read that book. The problem with being an English major is you rarely get to read for pleasure very much.

If you like Sarah, you may like this one. It gives me massive chill bumps:

And if you have a drop of Celtic blood in your veins, maybe you'll like this one. :) Oran Na Cloiche, with Kathleen McInnes singing. You'll notice Sarah strumming on what I believe is a mandocello there.
