Just crossed Ratdog off my agenda. Decided to drive up to KC. First time seeing them and I have to say it was phenomenal! I know nowadays it can be hit or miss with Bobby(maybe I read too much PT :wtf: ) But Bobby sounded great and we know how good Kimock is. Very nice first set. Josephine and My brother Esau were a nice treat. West LA fadeaway was monster, and the whole second set smoked.

I just saw them for the first time in February and I had the same reaction. Thought Bob looked good and the band was tight as hell. I’m seeing them again in August.

Anyway, Tedeschi/Trucks was badass. Glad I went. Dave Matthews is next week. Got the day after off work so it’ll be time to rage.

^ where are they playing in August? They are coming back to St. Louis in august? That would be the 3rd show within 3 hrs of me in the last 6 months or so. Unreal how this guy still tours so much

I was really wanting to catch Dave this summer, Haven't seen him in sometime, but the acoustic/electric tour and mixing up the setlists a bit had me intrigued. I think they needed a good shake up from recent tours. But, with 5 phish shows and a few others I couldn't swing it.

At Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights. Not a bad little venue. Should be easy to find space. Lawn sucks, though...get in the pavilion...once in there, the ushers usually don't give a shit where you sit.

Haven't seen him in sometime, but the acoustic/electric tour and mixing up the setlists a bit had me intrigued. I think they needed a good shake up from recent tours.

For me, it's all about Dave's setlists...sometimes he'll just do a bunch of "meh" songs...he definitely been playing a lot more obscure stuff which is great for geeks but can bore his casual audience (but fuck them). I absolutely loved the setlist of the show on Wednesday. Great choices throughout.

Remaining:

-Phish
-Jimmy Buffett/John Fogerty
-Ratdog
-Tom Petty/Steve Winwood
-Aerosmith
-Fleetwood Mac

(Also a friend won Peter Frampton tix on 7/30/14 which we may go to. I've never seen him but I'm sure I'd at least appreciate the guitar work. Not sure if we'll go...it's about whether she goes or chickens out or not).

I’ve been really tempted to see this one. Never seen ZedZed.

^^Hope you enjoyed Beck. I loved his slower stuff like Sea Change and his new album…I’d imagine it could be a relaxing trip.

Anyway, my Phish fix is satiated for a while. Jimmy Buffett/Fogerty is up next in ten days though I have a feeling that everything I see after seeing Phish just feel a little lacking.

Saw Clutch on Friday. They're working up a new album soon. I'm not this excited about any other band, not even Phish. Killer lyrics, great songs. Come on OKP get in on this shit.

I am flying out to L.A. to see them at The Forum. Anybody else going? I am going solo so I would love to meet up with anyone from the board.
Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.

So last night I saw Possessed By Paul James.

He was cool. First time seeing him.

But I think I was more impressed by one of the opening bands, Texas Plant.

It was like a metal folk band, while PbPJ was just the one fellow playing a few instruments and singing.

Different vibes, guess I was in the mood for a band.

I got a couple shows coming up in the new year so far.

John Mellencamp - (Valentines day gift for the wife)
Greensky Bluegrass - (Valentines day gift for me)
Dr. Ralph Stanley and Family - (check off my bucket list)
