Sorry about the double post, but I think not just the goderators should play. I mean, all though they are the reason the OKP exists...there are no female goderators. So they don't necessarily represent all of the OKP. They should elect certain people to play as well. That's my suggestion.

Yeah everyone wants to play Mike but sorry this is about the Oh kee, NOT YOU. Get over it.

lets keep it cool folks... people are just throwing out ideas and/or desires... we'll vote on a final format. no need to steer this into hostile territory.

lets all just be like 900 little fonzies... and what is fonzie?

I'm sorry Zoot, I didn't want to come off that way. I don't want to be Cochie.

I'm Cool.

i like the idea ofa chat, its a lot more interactive then a thread, what if we declared a time period, or a few time periods when people would all go in the chatroom and discuss possible moves, then either choose a move to make, or choose a few that will be polled.

Why don't you guys use this time to have a small chess tournament between top posters and take the top 2 players to go against Michelangelo.
From Trey's story about backpacking with Fishman in Europe....What's your fee to drive me to Firenze (Florence for the non-Italians)....

ok so so far these are some of the options people have come up with... i've added possible questions/drawbacks for supporters to think about and discuss.

- a small group picks 5-6 possible moves for everyone to vote on each round... the winner of the poll is the okp move.

-----> how do we choose who creates the polls?

- a list is created of everyone who wants to play - each member gets his/her own turn and sends moves to astral

-----> will people be left out in the cold?

- a list is created of everyone who wants to participate - each member gets a turn to create the poll for the next move.

-----> inexperienced chess players making polls might affect game play?

- a okp tournament takes place over the next 9 weeks (while gordo is recording his hot new album) and the top two players take on mike

-----> are the chess noobs going to feel hosed?

- members decide on a meeting time, and gather in the chat room to decide moves

-----> how do we organize this so it doesn't decend into chaos?

if i left any ideas out let me know. continue to discuss... i just wanted to try to keep our thoughts organized.

edit: just a thought... we could have a tournament to decide our poll makers.

I am game for whatever ya'll think, but the thought of saying the whole " I played Gordo in chess deal" is very inviting...

I am a very decent chess player also...Yet to hear from Big Dude yet though...

If everyone gets a move, I think there would be no room for any issues, cuz we all a big family....And it is Mike....Right...

Edited:::

After a minute I think the Poll thing would work also...I mean hell there are 20 different things about each idea...I would go with either as long as all the rules and explanations are in and we are ALL on board to kick some Gordo butt, and hear a great Mikes Song.....

If we decided to discuss moves in the chat, how would we decide definitively which move to make, especially if members are divided between two possible moves?

Personally, I like the idea of polls, and an OKP tournament to decide the members who make the polls.

why don't we give it until wednesday... for any further ideas/modifications. don't think we've heard from some of the big gunsyet: icc, vern, cleet, etc.

then we can set up the poll and do 1 week of voting. sound good to everyone?

edit: interested to see how many people this poll draws in...

I think whoever's move it is next should make the next poll once the screenshot is put up of the board...this way we'll know that they are going to step up.

Once i get a list of everyone who want to play i can randomize the list and post it so everyone will know when its their turn to make the poll...eh?

i think polls for moves is best...discuss it previously via thread/chat and then the top discussed and pondered over moves should be put on the poll...i dont think it matters who "creates" the poll just as long as everyone gets their vote in...

as for moving i dont think that should be a big deal either...its the OKP vs. Mike...right?

i think im just gonna watch and vote (hopefully)...

we should probably designate one or multiple people to take turns creating the polls, considering that the people who want to make the moves might not know how to, or even just for the sake of accuracy and organization, just keep someone on it that knows what theyre doing.

Or just get Fonzie to make the polls. He knows everything.
