WOW! I've not been able to properly check the board in two days and I come back to find this announcement! This is great news, I am so glad Mike is up for our chess suggestion! Well done to all involved! I wish I could actually play chess!

This is very cool. What other rock star is so in tune with the fans. I smiled when mike mentioned "THE OHKEEPA website people." it is just so cool that this site has become so influential

We could use the polling apparatus as a way to have a united ohkee pa move everytime. Someone half decent at chess post 5 or 6 moves that we could make for our turn and then we vote in the polling that is normally used on these boards the winning move is the Oh Kee PA move. If we need a chess mind to come up with the 5 or 6 best moves i can do that I am a chess geek (You know late night internet chess). So let me know.

Is anyone else wondering, "Why 9 Weeks?" What's Gordo doing in that time? Practicing or writing as "Trey told him to"? Maybe we'll get a reunion announcement in that time. Maybe he needs some time to brush up, or maybe he figures 9 weeks is long enought to come up with an excuse to not play.

I think that the only reason that mike could say 9 weeks is a phish reunion, there is no other logical explaination.
Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.

I am. I thought "Why 9 weeks?" as well. Maybe he's booked solid, who knows. This gives us time to develop a strategy, figure out moves, etc.

9 WEEKS not months. He's not a dog you know.

-but to the original point here, this is astounding. a great example of what a small group of people can accomplish if they all band together for what they beleive in.

well maybe not THAT epic, but it's still very cool.

p.s. he's watching us.

Just wanted to say "big ups" to everyone who helped get this rolling! Totally sweet that Cactus is up for this.
As for the 9 weeks remark, perhaps (and grasping at straws here) maybe a "reunion" tour that unveils a new chess game to be played at shows.....I know, easy on the reunion talk, open to bashing about this. I can take it!
Again, so sweet that Mike is down for this, and total props to everyone on this board, such a fine place to visit from time to time.
We passed a goddamn gas station every 10 yards for 1000 miles, but when you really need one, you end up walking your ass off. This is no way to run a desert!

^I agree. Kudos to everyone who got this rolling. Such a great idea. The Oh Kee Pa is such a great community that is truly keeping the Phish scene real and alive. Nice being a part of something so positive (eventhough only able to post on occassion.) Kudos again!

thats awesome, great work everyone. we should determine times to meet in the chatroom to decide moves so its

a - more efficient way of communication
b - allows others to voice their opinion
c - easier way to tally votes
d - if mike lurks on here, we dont want him seeing the moves ;)

i hope he is working on a new solo album over the next nine weeks
