final round breakdown/updates

Here's a question: why is there a final round? I thought the point of the tournament was to find the five or so best players, then these players would discuss the best move to make against Cactus, and present several options to the OKP in a poll. So, why is it neccessary to find the best player?
If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite.

i mean if there's no "head" we wouldn't be able to use our toilet snorkles... and if there was a fire... we'd be screwed.
