WEST FINAL - 11/22/97 vs. 6/11/94
Hampton comes into this matchup with victory margins of 54% and 59%. Hardly something to boast about for #1 overall seed in the tourny. However, this show has overcame the (IMO) greatest live performance of Gamehenge in Phistory, as well as Campus Club '92, no slouch by any means, as this topped a few lists.
Hampton faces off against Red Rocks '94 (the 2nd night), coming off a hard fought win overall 11/27/98 Worcester, The Wipeout Show. After easily handling Salem, OR's Armory '94 two-setter, these Red Rock sets asserted themselves as the dominant '94 show.
Now THIS is a matchup! The top #1 seed matched up against the top #2 seed (and 5th highest ranked show of the pre-tourny) This is the fire vs. the funk, the shred against the goo, buffalo vs. teriyaki, headbanging vs groove sessions, can't wait to see what happens.

SOUTH FINAL - 4/3/98 vs. 12/1/95
(Arguably, or not) the greatest show of the famed Island Tour, 4/3/98 comes into this matchup with solid wins over two great, great shows. With two-thirds percent victories over the best from Europe '97 and Vegas '96, fans of this show have to like it's chances moving forward
12/1/95 comes into face Uniondale II after having advanced over 12/11/99 Philly rather easily with a 14-4, 78% victory. It could be argued that The Magical Land of Chocolate had a tougher opponent in RD1, facing off against the legendary Roxy '93 show.
This is a very interesting matchup indeed because each show brings HUGE intangibles. 12/1 boasts the forbins with the chocolate, the wolfamn's flub, the chess move, the first ever mike's > paug, while 4/3 counters with the huge roses, the stage runner, the carini banter, the actual playing of carini for an encore, etc. This one could come down to more than just music.

NORTH FINAL - 12/6/97 vs. 12/7/97
The dream matchup.
The long-asked question.
The debate.
THE set one vs. THE set two (again, arguably, but roll with hyperbole, ok?

This is a long awaited macthup. Will Dayton's set one have enough to overcome Auburn Hill's set two? Will it come down to Tube vs Tweezer? Psycho Killer vs. Izabella? or will it actually come down to the OTHER sets of each show.
Vote and see...

EAST FINAL - 4/5/98 vs. 11/17/98
Another classic Island Tour show against another classic Fall '97, each show brings some SERIOUS heat to the table.
4/5/98 hasn't been challenge this whole tourny with easy 70+ percent victories in the first two rounds. Taking out a monster '98 show (10/30/98) and a classic '97 affair (12/30/97) this show has gone up against some of the most raging late 90's era shows, and has taken them to town. If any show can knock off 11/17/97, this show has proven it's worthy.
11/17/97 on the hand, is well, 11/17/97. A #2 seed that could easily of been a #1 seed, this show needs no introduction. With the two easy 75% victories (over 3/20/93 Binghmapton and Bomb Factory '94) this show means buisness, and it takes no prisoners.
With a mactchup of two 70% juggernauts, this is the (stat-wise) biggest matchup of the tourny so far.
