30 minutes into Saturday, so it counts.

Been a weird day. Got a new fella I'm entertaining of late and we got into a weird discussion about some current political issues that almost ended shit dead in its tracks, but alas I maintained coolness and all worked out. My houseguests let my cat out by mistake yesterday, but she came home tonight. I truly thought she was gone for good. I was pretty pissed at the friend who let the cat out, but once the cat came home, I chilled out and made up with her. I drank lots of hard cider tonight and I'm not nearly as intoxicated as I feel like I should be. Got a really great radio station going and doing lots of dancing around the house. Not a bad Friday night/Saturday morning if I do say so myself.
I've been doing this a long time and have seen lots of changes most of which I can't fucking stand...but I still go anyway because I'm there for the MUSIC and so I tolerate all that other bullshit because I DO get the point. So there :-)

For some people you learn to just not respond when they start bitching about something political. I had one set of friends who were hardcore truthers on conspiracies and such and I got sucked into arguing about insane that all was one time and they realized I shouldn't do that again. Not smart. When folks don't ever believe in truth and logic, then these things have no effect on them.

My houseguests let my cat out by mistake yesterday, but she came home tonight. I truly thought she was gone for good.

Awww, be happy, since that means kitty likes you. But this is a scary feeling though.

I drank lots of hard cider tonight and I'm not nearly as intoxicated as I feel like I should be.

The hard ciders never do it for me either.

When I was 11 or 12 or so I watched Summer School (which is an awesome movie) and I had no idea what chocodiles were.

Sometime later I learned that they were Twinkies dipped in chocolate.

Recently I found them in the grocery store here in Texas.

^Sweet! Love that movie. One of the ones I watched over and over, without tiring, in my youth.

My friend Will is having a stroke!

If you died at work, you could have a funeral that day. Convenient.

Getting back to Summer School, one of my favorite random parts is when they're in court and the judge asks where they got the booze and Chainsaw or Dave says "Murray. You know, from Murray's Liquors."

I was confused here since I read their mission statement and it doesn't mention anything about bats. Just that strange logo in the corner. I'm bat friendly myself...we have them flying all around the house at night. Have had them buzz by my head a few times which is harmless but sure freaks you out sometimes.

^ Just something random that I came across while wandering the internet late on a Saturday. This was the first article I read:
http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2017/10/29/560292442/bats-and-tequila-a-once-boo-tiful-relationship-cursed-by-growing-demands

And this is the more specific link:
http://www.tequilainterchangeproject.org/bat-friendly-tequila-and-mezcal-board/

I like the idea of everything being connected in some way. Six degrees of separation.

I do find it humorous how we all used to watch shows like Star Trek which depicted the future and had things like replicators where you could simply tell a computer what you wanted and it's materialize there. Looked like a wonderful utopian world where no one could go hungry.

Yet, now that we have the ability to artificially create food that can feed tons of folks, people do nothing but throw themselves in front of it, try to make it stop, try to convince everyone that it's unhealthy, and try to go back to the old way of making foods which left tons of people still hungry. Funny how that works.
