Encore: The Ocean[2]

[1] Unfinished.
[2] Phish debut.

Should be noted that DwD features samples from Shipwreck. Also that had me giddy since I spent a good part of the day at Point Arena lighthouse on the rugged NorCal coast watching the crashing surf and jagged rocks.

I tuned in to this show about halfway through and totally enjoyed it. Loved the way they worked in those samples, that was pretty sweet. Mexico looks like a success from what I can see.

I didn’t mind the samples, but thought Page could have laid off a bit on them. I haven’t relistened yet, so I could be off, but at the time I thought it was over done.

The dud of the run, in my opinion.

Maybe all the salt water in the air finally got to them, but I feel like their voices were not up to par… and the playing at times was just off.

As one gentleman said (I think) before Slave to the Traffic Light… “I dare you to play better!”
