Simple, Gotta Jibboo, Tweezer, Seven Below, and Pebbles and Marbles are all SO GOOD.
Just loaded this show up on the ol’ iPod. Have heard snippets of songs here and there but not the complete show. Gonna lace 'em up, crank it up and see where I end up!
OK, that’s a lot of “ups.”
Just listened to this one start to finish. Doesn’t really do it for me. Rift is kind of rough, as is PYITE. R&R has a nice 1st set style jam, but some seriously wacky vocals from Page. Simple, Jibboo, and Tweezer all have extended playing but they don’t really go anywhere super interesting. 7 Below is always tough because the vocals are brutal but it usually leads to some pretty cool improvisation. Definitely the case here. A nice funk jam emerges about halfway through. Just falls somewhat flat. Maybe because I just finished working through the '03 Shoreline show, which kicks ass if you haven’t heard it.
Yeah, I was like 2 minutes into my run and I’m like “ugh, this “Rift” is brutal!”
The “Simple” wasn’t half bad IMO.
