So this was 10 years (and 1 day) ago???

Holy jeebus!

I had a lot of fun at this show. Like, a LOT of fun, partially due to some Sass. Okay, mostly due to some Sass.

I ran into this dude that we had met in Camden in '99 named Cowfunk Dave before the show. Hadn’t seen him in years and he was a weird cat.

He was an old tour kid turned space-cadet/junkie and he had kept me up a few late spun nights talking about his old interactions with the band and in particular Trey. Said they went way back and used to hang all the time.

ANYwayyyyy… he would often bring up the story of Lifeboy and how they never played it again after Trey had a dream/encounter with a super natural being and how this lead to Ghost being written and also Meat. He said that Trey had made a deal with God to never play Lifeboy again if God promised to leave him alone.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…I ran into Dave in the elevator of our hotel right before the show. We had a big freak out hug and were super pumped to see him and his wife for the first time in years.

Fast forward to set break and again I randomly run into Dave walking out of our section. Let’s just say Dave wasn’t doing so well. Bro had bugged out BIG TIME and was being led away by his wife. All that could be heard was his mumblings of “Lifebooooooy…they played it…lifeboooooooy”.

This immediately kicked our Sassafras experience up a notch and sent us into high gear for the second set. That 2001 still gives me haunting chills.

Yep, this is some good 2001.

First show of 2.0 for me and went sober to this one. A lot of fun. Not as much as night two though :wtf:

this was my first show. it was grand. we couldn’t find one of our friends after the show. we waited around for about an hour. got back to our hotel room and he was slumped over the television, staring into a mirror, and mumbling some shit about how his ear was bleeding. that was not grand.

This was my first as well! Listening to the AUD recording right now and hearing the crowd swells during the 'lope gave me chills. there was some crazy energy in that building that night!

Yep… My first too lol. that’s why I jumped on this thread cause I saw the date. sober first night. left my body and flew around the room with about a hundred other ppl/auras. the take off from my body was sloppy as I waved goodbye to my bug eyed body than someone who obviously knew what he was doin flew over to me and asked if I ate the blue ferries. I sure did, 5 of em and an 8er of gold caps. he gave me a few pointers on how to fly more smoothly, and I flew down and sat on fishmans cymbals and watched him play. it was so real. no one could see me (except the other hundred or so ppl flyin round the room as well) but I could see paul and tom and a bunch of other ppl i didn’t recognize backstage and everything. most real subconscious thing ive experienced to this day. im still not sure it didn’t happen. but ya great weekend.
got a free Greensboro ticket Saturday to, so more on the epic weekend side in fact!!
