[4] Somewhere Over the Rainbow tease.
[5] Simpsons and Turn Turn Turn signals.
[6] Mike on accordian for first known time.

Notes: During the pause in Divided Sky, some fans, mocking Trey’s comment two nights earlier, shouted out “POSSUM!” Trey teased We’re Off to See the Wizard during Antelope’s intro and Fluffhead’s ending. Trey teased Somewhere Over the Rainbow during Antelope and before and during Wilson. The BBFCFM sandwich is often referred to as the “Big Black Furry Antelope.” Possum included Simpsons and Turn Turn Turn signals. Mike used an accordion on-stage for the first known time during Contact.

Solid soaMelt. The antelope->bbfcfm->antelope that closes the first set is incredible. Antelope drifts off into some type two territory before bbfcfm. Mike starts up a vocal jam in bffcm and it just leads to insanity. I think I heard a dinner and a movie line in the vocal jam. Trey is on fire of course. Silent in the Morning is sung differently. Trey sings some of the segments that Page would later sing. The Landlady is kind of take it or leave it, since it would later become part of pyite. Lizards is wonderful as usual.

If nothing else, listen to the Big Black Furry Antelope.

Celebrate 22 years.

Brother is easily my favorite track from this show. Every note of the jam is so perfect. And all the vocals are great, it’s just THE Brother, for me.

^ I just told someone about this Brother today. Good call.

One of the first tapes I got that had artwork. The Run Like A Furry Antelope is smoking. As mentioned above, this Brother is THE Brother. Trey shreds it and Gordon dominates the groove with Fishman. Horse > Silent afterwards is a little let down but it’s the only down point in the show.

Did this soundcheck ever circulate?

Nope.
