BIRTHDAY SHOW, BITCHES!!! I’ve seen it on phishows and have been meaning to check it out just purely out of curiosity.

you make me feel old!

Siiick Siiiick show. Trey shreddage all over the first set. Forbin’s Ass Scent > Kung > Icculus > Mockingbird is pure early 90s Gamehenge craziness. On top of that put one of my favorite Weekapaugs and you’ve got yerself a purty nifty fish concert.

Great Possum! They hook up nicely, and without stepping on any toes they all manage to be soloing at the same time. Dark and gritty Stash, and nice compact Magilla. Anyone else think the Stash theme is Magilla-ish? Love this Antelope too.
The Wedge =

The Forbin’s narration is very playful. Mike drinks the magic glass of wine that causes him to play the sacred riff while the crowd turns into a bubbling sea of soda and the venue turns into a soda can. Some kid starts kicking the soda can down the street, and to illustrate the kicks, Fishman keeps a beat going while Page smacks the piano for every “kick”.

Also, it’s impressive that Trey can play whatever leads he wants during Mike’s Song’s verses, and still manage to not get tripped up when Mike extends “said” an extra measure.

This Groove is just outta the ballpark. Seems like a very standard Mike’s segue, but Mike is uber strong on this and just drops BOMBS throughout the entire end of the second set. It’s SERIOUS.

The Wedge is extra tight and jazzy, just how I like my early Phish. Page is on fire on this and that light tinkling on the keys he does is just so pretty.

The Antelope to end the first set is just excellent even without Trey CLEARLY teasing the shit outta the Beatles. He shreds throughout the entire show.

Just SO GOOD

also my b-day show, ill be looking for a good blace to find a burn this week
