Taped for VH1’s “Hard Rock Live” television program. A hour-long selection of songs first aired during the Summer of 2000.

Surprised no one has commented on this show. It was a month of radio show warmups and an intimate 2 night stand at Radio City Music Hall which culminated at Roseland, a show that wasn’t announced until the 21st. Those lucky enough to be in NYC for the box office only ticket release were spoiled with solid playing and a fantastic setlist. Songs like Ya Mar, Taste, Gotta Jibboo and Twist were played with the same loose style of Big Cypress while still being very tight. There is even a mid-set YEM, Antelope! Can’t recall the last time I saw that on a setlist. The band was tuned in and very patient to let the jams evolve while the crowd response to the song choices definitely kept the band pushing forward and dusting off some gems. At the time It’s Ice was nonexistent in the rotation. Fortunately, they kept this one around for the Summer tour. When the Circus Comes, Sleeping Monkey and Train Song were also seldom played. Most of the show was high powered so busting out these slower songs maintained the crowd’s energy but also allowed the band to catch their breath. The radio shows were not only a wamup for Radio City and Roseland but also promotion for their current album ‘Farmhouse’ which is why six songs off that album appear here. All in all this is a very overlooked show that doesn’t let down from start to finish. The sound quality is likely a SBD Matrix as it captures a lot of the crowd’s responses, making it a great listen with headphones.
