Easily one of the best shows of the decade. Something about this show is very shroomy, if that makes sense. This is what the show from Toyota Park this year was trying to be :). just kidding.

When I picked my top LivePhish volumes, 04 was #2.

I stick with that choice. Love the feel of this entire show. Yes, it’s a little slow and spacey, but almost perfectly so…

I think Will might have something to say about these statements…

It does, and I maintain that at least 1 member of the band was on shrooms that night. I am not 100% sure, but hallucinogenic mushrooms might have still been legal in Japan as late as June of 2000. The “nourishment” Trey refers to at the end of “Melt,” I believe, is mushrooms.

When I hear a reviewer or someone say Phish “noodles”… I think of this show.

You are quite right, sir. My comment was a little tongue in cheek.

Easily my most listened to show. This show has a distinct, intimate feel. This is dark psychedelic funk at it’s best. Amazing segues, amazing improvisation. There are highlights (gumbo>llama, twist>walk away), but this is one of those shows that needs to be listened to whole hog.

Isn’t there quite literally a mushroom on the album cover for this LP release? Or was that another one?

Interesting that this is your most listened to show, Zoot, One can see why. This is definitely something that every fan of Phish should listen to the whole way through. In fact, One has not listened to this show in some time. Gonna give it a spin this weekend. Amazing stuff.

Just listened to this show again last night. This may be my favorite version of ASZ. Maybe.

It’s so cool how the entire crowd is dead silent during Pages solo at the end of Coil. How often has the audience been completely quiet after like '93?

Fukuoka is one of my favorite all time shows. I love the overall ‘feel’ of the show, especially the 2nd set. I hope Phish uses this show as an inspiration to the 4,5, 6 song second set with the extended jams this upcoming year.

I am convinced that if Will had a choice between listening to this show 3 times in a row or death, he would think for a minute and begrudgingly choose listening to the show.

Am I the only one that thinks the feedback during pretty much the entire show makes it ruin the LP release?

Probably not.

But since it’s a relatively intimate venue, I think it adds to the overall “character” of the show.

Hey, it’s the 10-year anniversary of Will’s favorite LP release!

Really like the Gumbo>Llama segment of this show, very very nice transition and jam outta Gumbo. Damn good show, my first listen and I’m loving it. Except for the commercial interruptions from Spotify…bastards :imp:
