*Extended intro jam. **First time played (J.J. Cale cover, from his “Closer to You” album).

This first set (and show) is sick sick sick. It basically does not stop the entire time. The Taste ends with a little feedback-ish noise going on, then they just bust into this super gnarly jam, which bangs nicely into Cities, which gets weird, hangs for a min, and then Trey starts into Horn. Horn then somehow segues into Ain’t Love Funny, another tune from this year I wish they would have played a little more frequently. This again segues into Limb by Limb, which they build up nice slowly with a lot of good Trey action until they get into I Don’t Care, which I love…very rock and roll. And then a smoking Antelope comes out of the I Don’t Care jam.

Then, they open the second set with a 20 minute Bowie. I know I’ve got a little thing for the Bowies, but I can’t help it and this one is high caliber. The Ghost has a tight little funk jam, but they also start to take Twist out for a little walk this time. They don’t get too far from the main theme and groove, but Trey plays around with a lot of cool runs and riffs.
