Encore: Rock and Roll

Notes: [1] Debut.

My first trip to Deer Creek. The weather didn’t quite cooperate, but the venue eventually opened, the show started (with a bang), and it was a great night.

The first set was your typical great first set. A good mix of old and new, lounge crooning and satanic screaming, bluegrass and funk.

Breath and Burning will be 2016’s Blaze On. It is a solid tune.

The clear highlight of the show was Light > Golden Age -> Boogie on Reggae Woman.

I know that a lot of fans really like Wingsuit, but this placement was just… Yikes. Wingsuit > Shade felt exactly like how Twenty Years Later > Waste felt two nights earlier.

This show had three quarters of quality play and selection.

The front of the pavilion filed out during Wingsuit around me.

I like the song, but it reminds me of TTE where the people leaving is such a bummer.

'Buncha AMATEURS in that pit! :unamused:

Wingsuit > Shade might be too much mellow for most but Wingsuit is epic and you can definitely hear Phish’s new “once more, with FEEEELLLLINGGG” approach this summer. Shade is about as sweet as it gets

golden age -> boogie is dance party extravaganza and the drop into Boogie izzzz IT

oh yeah and the windstorm in the lots before the show opened were unreal. not much in the way of thunder and lightning and even the rain during the show was just a gentle fall, but the winds the blew that storm in were crazy
