Driving up to Alpine in a few for tonight’s show. A few newbies to Phish are going with me. Which Deer Creek show would be the better choice to play in the car? They specifically requested that I bring Phish along for the ride. Both set lists look amazing.

My pick would be night 2 just because I think it better covers the scope and range of what Phish can do. That’s just my opinion.

Mike teased FYF during Tweezers.

Great show. Highlights we’re the wolfman’s, tweezer, Waves, and Bowie

Did anyone hear a tease of Psycho Killer before HYHU? The bass lines are similar.

Seemed like more than a tease, I was certain it was gonna be -> psycho killer

Probably the best show I have had the pleasure of attending. I know people say that often soon after a show, but there wasn’t a point in the show where I would have prefered a different song. Me and the girlfriend grabed some pretty great re-releases the day of and sat about 10 rows back on Fish’s side close to the isle. Closest I’ve been for Phish in a seated amphitheater. The gf enjoys going to shows, but up until this night it was simply because of the atmosphere and not the music, this show seriously changed that. This was her 4th show and I know it won’t be the last, which is always a + in my book  She is the first person I’ve ever really “showed” Phish that has really got it and appreciates it. It took 4 shows, but I’m so thankful she got to go to this show.

The first set was a bit “disjointed” as far as the flow of the goes. But every song was fantastic. Maybe its just my personal preference, but 8 out of the 12 songs were firsts for me, including 2 favorites in Curtain W/ & Pebbles. Tela doesn’t hurt a set list imo either  It was hotter than hell, but became bareable by the end of Set I.

The second set wasn’t as full of rare songs, but everything seemed to flow perfectly. McGrupp was a nice surprise as well. The antics on stage made the night even that more special. A lot of times sitting farther back in the lawn or pavillion doesn’t give us the opprotunity to enjoy the subtle gestures between the band members, but just watching how much fun the 4some were having was amazing. Caspian was a bit off, but a great way to segue into the ->Waves>Bug>Bowie. Encore wise, I love the sentiment behind SoL, but I think it needs to be perfectly placed in a set and tonight wasn’t that placing. Still really enjoy the heart felt lyrics everytime though.

Overall this show gets a perfect 10, SoL and the fucking heat needed to be turned down. Other than that, everything was incredible and I had an amazing time. I just hope everyone else that was there enjoyed it as much as we did.

Good show, great times!

^missed you. Tried to call ya. Next time?

By the way, everyone, if you go groundscoring after a storm, a North Face Tent with a nice backpack holding an external hard drive, a digital camera, beer, a Garmin, and diabetes medicine is NOT fair game. Thanks for leaving my meds, but REALLY?? Just because someone has to flee their tent during a hurricane does not mean they are abandoning all of their belongings for good. I’m glad I’m alive and all, and I know it was none of you, but those of you still on tour, look out for a patch with a green outline of Trey’s face. They stole Trey’s face. Some of you saw me running around with the patch on a stick-body. If you see it, try to figure out where it came from. If they found it or seem sketch or anything, get their facebook. I’ll pay a reward to get my stuff back. That stuff shouldn’t have been in my tent, but they made me park elsewhere and I was just trying to take sturdy shelter at 4am. I mean, cops were waking up the campground with sirens and telling us to run run run run run.

^well that is super shity

well this was my first show of the year and this and the rest of the weekend did not disapoint, lots of HIGH points with out a lot of lows. First set highlights for me were Curtain, Pebbles, Cool it down(wich a buddy called befor leaving Wed. afternoon).

2nd set was all fun with some Phishy anticks. Only real let down was the Caspain.
Alot of fun little songs this show as well with Weigh, and the whole HYHU>Bike>HYHU thing.
Not the best show of the weekend but it did not let me down

This show was super sick! one of my favorites of the tour to attend. Both nights at the creek were heaters in more than one way! Really though… there were some moments when i was really struggling from the heat. They treated us to a sick show for what we dealt with. Weekapaug was too much fun. Trey and fish dueling on drums with Page rippin it really reminded me of some of the 95-96 moments when trey had the percussion rack. Waves was sick. Whole first set was outta control too. Honestly one of my fav mcgrupps i’ve heard. They get pretty dark with this one. Waves and Bowie were straight heaters too

What an awesome first set that was!

Couldn’t agree more. Loved the Curtain W/, Pebbles, Tela, FyF…everything else as well but those stood out. Mikes vocals on FyF are really low on the LP dl but they seemed fine at the show.

Second set, after further review was great tip to finish imo. Even the Caspian was “ok”. I don’t get all the complaining about Bug, I think sometimes its a set killer, but this night it seemed to fit in perfectly between Waves & Bowie.

As the heat starts to make its return to the Mitten, I plan on throwing this show on tomorrow whilest doing lawn work. :sunglasses:

Speaking to the heat issue during this show, I believe I was severely dehydrated at this show.

Thinking back on it now, I have spotchy memories, but I clearly telling my friend that “Tela” was “McGrupp” as they started Tela.

Then Doug looked at me and corrected me, and I had to have this sheer look of bewilderment on my face, or I was having a mini heat stroke (both expressions probably look the same. :wtf:

I believe I also called Pebbles and Marbles “Walls of the Cave” to the same friend. :unamused:

Upon making these statements, I immediately realized my mistakes, but I was so fucking hot and tired, my brain liquified just a little bit, not exactly the same way I used to liquify the old cranium. :smiling_imp:

Cool story bro

Hahahahahaha
