Notes: La Grange was played for the first time since September 22, 1999 (301 shows). Twist contained a brief In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida tease from Trey, Kill Devil Falls included a Jeopardy! theme tease, and Hood contained a Kung quote. My Friend My Friend did not contain the “Myfe” ending. Page thanked the fans and crew for a great tour prior to You Enjoy Myself. YEM subsequently contained a Flash Light tease from Mike and teases of the theme to Sanford and Son in the vocal jam.

So, I gotta say, this was quite a show! While I’m sure the other two nights took the spotlight over this one, don’t underestimate what went down on SPAC night 3.

Personal first time seen live: My Soul, Camel Walk, Nellie Kane, Driver, If I Could, La Grange, Swept Away, Steep

Party time contained some nice jamming that I hadn’t heard them do on that song. They actually took some time with it and built a little bit instead of sticking to it’s normal three minute format. Split Open and Melt got REALLY heavy real fast. Listen back.

I really enjoyed the second set, especially a finished Hood. But the real gem for me was seeing Swept Away > Steep > Piper. I thought it was beautifully placed, and I’d never heard the jam they did at the end of Steep before. Piper really opened up into this monster excursion. I fully expected it to be aborted, but it kept going and it made a huge impact on me.

And of course, YEM was on everyone’s mind as the tour closer. Everyone saw it coming, and it brought it all home as the last song of the tour.

But the story of the night goes to La Grange. While on our way up to the show, my girlfriend proclaimed her legs to be too dry, and that they needed lotion. Cue sexy music, right? Just as she started to lather them up, La Grange came on the ipod randomly. We died laughing, especially because she’s from Texas. So when they bust out with that as the set closer, WE FREAKED. They hadn’t played that since 1999. It was her first show, too. Incredible.

nice 2nd set!

Wow loved this show. Thought first night was a lil better but this is definitely better than night 2 for me at least. I’ll go more in depth later but let me say as someone who did the full tour, this was one of the best of leg1. Piper thru Bowie was pure freakin hose.

I retract my previous statement. this show was the fucking truth. one of my favorites all summer except dick’s of course. seriously so connected on this one. Jams are butter, segues are smooth and song selection is fucking primo. this is one for the books… a keeper

Hot YEM! Awesome solos from everyone, real patient build from Trey and just hilarious dancing to Mike’s bass solo. Love how they pick it up after whiffing the vocal jam. This YEM had me obsessing over Phish again.

KDF4LYPHE. Seriously folks, if you haven’t yet, listen to this KDF very weird irregular phishy jamming toward the end.
