Night two at Alpine definitely did not disappoint. Made the quick 45 minute ride from Milwaukee to East Troy and got to the lots as they opened. More beverages were consumed. My first 3 shows of the summer were drinking shows. This would change at Deer Creek, but first things first.

Bought a cool poster with BB King sitting in with the band from the 2/26/03 show in the lots. A lot of chill times in the lot for these first 3 shows. Had a blast.

Onto the show. I was Trey side in the pavilion again except I was closer this time. Sample opener was meh. Once Reba started though I knew the boys were making up for the previous nights second set. I suppose you got to play the new material. Anyways, Wilson is next. Hell yeah time to rage. My first Scents and Subtle Sounds. Didn’t blow me away, but still easily thought this was the best of the new songs I had heard. Maze up next. What? 2 Maze’s in 3 days? You won’t see me complaining. Next was the beautiful Trey ballad Driver. NICU then got started. I always love me a good NICU. Fun song to dance to. Ya Mar next…Awesome. Got this 1-2 punch except in reverse order at my first show (7/23/99). Anothe Play It Leo. Then Rocky Top. I looked at my buddy immediately and yelled Play it Leo. Hahaha…Those crazy dudes. The Leo trio as it was dubbed. Awesome shit. I thought that would end the set, but then Lawn Boy started. Easily the largest crowd swell for a Lawn Boy ever!! Page getting some serious love! Knew we’d get one more after this and Julius didnt’ disappoint. Awesome first set!!! I officially forgive the band for yesterday’s second set. The Leo Trio, Lawn Boy, Julius was one of many highlights for me in the Summer of 2003.

Second set opens up with a Piper. I now really get Piper, but at the time I wasn’t a huge fan of Piper. Still a good version and when it went into Rock and Roll I lost my shit. I love Rock and Roll. It wasn’t played as much in 2003 as it was in 2009. It didn’t bother me how many times they played it in 2009 either though. More Page love here! This segues into Seven Below. One of my favorites from Round Room. Didn’t go crazy out there like the Gorge version, but still awesome. This eventually segued in Caspain. Perfect time to piss. The second set then ends with a ragin YEM. This YEM was off the hook. The whole venue was ragin hardcore. A Wading encore is kind a downer, but more Page love here!

What an awesome show. At this time easily the favorite of the first 3 shows I attended of the 2003 Summer.

A night off and then off to Deer Creek. We stayed the night in Milwaukee and then proceeded to Deer Creek!! Always special as this is home. Nice to have a tour stop at home to clean up, get more dough, etc.

My first show, loved this night, me and my uncle went up from Chicago, i flew in from PA
what a great experience
