Set 1: The Moma Dance, Wolfman’s Brother, Devotion To a Dream, 46 Days, Yarmouth Road, Brian and Robert, Wingsuit, Tube > Free > Roggae, Heavy Things > Run Like an Antelope

Set 2: Carini -> Waves > Fuego > Twist > Light > Twenty Years Later > Harry Hood > Cavern

Encore: Grind, Bug, Suzy Greenberg

Fuego, Light and Hood were fantastic. Overall this was a good show. Three great nights in Chicago!

Hmmm. This show was my least favorite of the 3. I do want to note that it was a shitty environment on this night. Yes we were in lawn and yes it’s sat night, and yes it’s Chicago, So I know what is expected, but it was worse. You could not find a spot on the lawn that wasn’t chatty central and people not giving a damn. It really hindered our listening/dancing experience  . I will say thought that we also had lawn on Friday and I had 0 complaints. It was great and the sound anywhere in the venue is incredible.

Anyway, set 1 was kind of a mess and was my least favorite set of the run. Just seemed song heavy to me and the tempo was up and down and they seemed to just be going through the motions. The only reason I would listen back to this set is for the funky Tube.

Set 2 on paper looks sick. It just screams of a dark and jammy set, which I love. It just didn’t hold up. When they opened with Carini I thought we were going to be in for a treat, but it was just a good average jam. The waves was just missing that umph and once again It just felt like the band was just going through the motions.
Fuego was good and the set turns around with the Fuego>Twist>Light. I’ve already given the Twist>Light repeated listens. Light had some real nice stuff going on in it and I thought we could get real weird, but then comes 20yrs later, which I like, but it fell a little flat. The Hood was soooo good! I have really been liking where the Hoods have taken us this summer. Cavern is my all time favorite PH song, so it was very welcomed and gave the end of the set a nice send off into the encore.
