FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, Chicago, IL

Set 1: Gumbo > Runaway Jim, Tela, The Line, Scent of a Mule[1] > Bathtub Gin > Silent in the Morning > Maze > Ocelot, Walls of the Cave

Set 2: Down with Disease[2] > Winterqueen > Theme From the Bottom > Mike’s Song > The Wedge, Ghost -> Weekapaug Groove, First Tube

Encore: Character Zero

[1] Fish on Marimba Lumina and all four band members on Fish’s drum set.
[2] Unfinished.

that was a show worthy of a Blu Ray release. CK5 was on it

One of the best shows that I have ever been to. Mule was a ton of fun, and you could tell the band was having fun too. Candles anyone? Page lit candles and brought them to Fish’s drums before the all band drum/marimba solo.

The Walls of the Cave melted my face. Trey was on throughout the night. DWD was good, Winterqueen was great and the WEDGE! Holy cow the Wedge was good! The Weekapaug meandered back into Ghost. And First Tube melted my face for a second time in the night. Such a fun show to be at. I am still on a high from this one!

EDIT:

Wedge > Ghost -> Weekapaug is so good you guys.

Great show all around. First set was solid. I called for either a Tela or Mcgrupp this weekend. Scent of a mule was glorious and you never can go wrong with a very nice WOTC.

Set 2 Started off and I wasn’t really sure where this set was going after the DWD opener. We got Winterqueen then Theme which is fine, and I love theme, but was hesitant. Then Mike’s starts and the party gets going, then comes the Wedge and I know no one expected what came from that :astonished: :astonished: :astonished: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:   . It was surreal, It was that defining moment of the weekend. That wedge transcended the whole rest of the set, it was like a tornado that said I am going to blow your mind and take whatever comes next and run with it. The Ghost> Weekapaug, First Tube was what that Wedge took with it and I thought the roof was going to blow off that place. off the hook… Simply Amazing.

The encore didn’t even matter.

This show gets a top 10, possibly top 5 of 3.0 shows for me personally.

Got to rage with my oldest and favorite partner in Phish, Nugless Douglas.

::ring ring ring::

First set was nice. Gumbo opener = good things to come.

Rest of the set was spot on and just dandy for a first set at an outdoor venue.

Second set is what ties it all together and sets it apart.

Not a bad note in the entire set, happy to hear it all (wish Theme had some more meat on it).

Wedge was delightful.

Good times once again in the Windy City.

this show kicked serious ass. crazy how much things can swing on certain nights.

Ghost -> Weekapaug is my highlight.

The drop into the Ghost jam is just so good. Straight off the bat they are totally locked in, no putzing around jammy awesomeness.

^Yes good, but I enjoyed the Mansfield GhostPaug more. Good stuff.
