This show has some definite highlights, with a few of them coming at unexpected times. The jam out of Ya Mar is amazing and the few minutes of ambient music between Circus and Limb is also gorgeous. The Roses opener is fun and I think DWD to follow makes for a nice combo. An old school straight rocking version of DWD features a lot of Trey shredding. Roggae is still in its infant stages and the vocals are pretty bad. Piper has reverted to a short and kind of boring status for the summer 98 tour which is a bummer. The Tweezer finally gets the jamming underway in set 2 and it’s a really good version with a lot of dance-happy Trey melodies. I could’ve used some more of it before the Circus segue but whatever. The Limb by Limb, though not the best placement is really good with Trey firing off some really cool runs, especially toward the end. Fee is a nice treat and the Antelope to close the set is an awesome version.
