I’m a big fan of this show, though admittedly it does kind of tank at the end. Still, the first set is really good. Too Much of Everything was one of my favorite summer 98 covers and I think the Bowie-Frankie Says-Reba combo packs quite the punch. A lot of good Page and Trey shredding on Funky Bitch and GTBT too. The second set La Grange opener is pure fire. Trey tears it up. The YEM is super groovy and awesome. I never quite understood Albuquerque as a choice for a cover. It’s not terrible just seems kind of lame. The only time I enjoyed seeing played was at Cypress, where the quietness of the tune enhanced the weird/quiet/surreal vibe that had sunk on the crowd during the all-night set. Anyway, the Simple had some potential but then it was almost like some switch had been flipped and they decided they were done being creative. Nothing too exciting in the rest of the show, save for PYITE popping up in the encore.
