I was talking about this show recently with my old tour buddy and friend Chase, and today someone on PT posted a thread about what exactly happened to Mike in Atlanta that made this first set so goddamn awful.

Rumor has it that Mike partied a little bit too hard with Col. Bruce in Hotlanta the night before and was late to soundcheck in Raleigh the next day.
I can’t even imagine . . .
Now, I am so glad that our boys have their shit together and the shows I see are quality and on-point every time.
Well, Page is awesome in the Disease jam. 
Yeah that Ya Mar was ugly though. I didn’t know Gordo made mistakes. 
I was there and it wasn’t THAT bad, but it was just the all around sloppiness from Mike as well as Trey. I also think Trey called that Disease just to be a dick because he knew . . .
Plus, you can listen to the banter from Trey and Fish after the second bridge in Ya Mar.
Trey to Mike: “If you can’t play, then we shouldn’t be here”
Fish: “Let’s be a quartet! Let’s be a quartet!”
Trey: “Anyone in the audience know how to play bass?”
It was a pretty sad moment in Phishtory . . .Plus, this was around the time that Mike was putting his party spots on the Hotline 
I love how Trey says “HE’S BACK!!!” after 7below, referring to mike. funny stuff.
The scene in the lots wasn’t that good either.
Cops/security were pricks there. Lot’s of busts.
I didn’t care for any of those NC shows that year.
But they made up for it at Star Lake in Pittsburgh.
