    • 25+ minutes; ** - first time played, Bob Dylan cover (includes the lyric “We’ll climb that hill no matter how steep / When we get up to IT”; reports indicate that the performance was closer to the Byrds’ well-known rendition of the song than to Dylan’s original); *** - very adventurous version; Thanks to Erik Swain for the calls.

Love MFMF in the opener slot, well played. Lonesome Bill is a fun first set song. This version’s a little rough around the edges. This SASS clocks in a 30+ min and is well worth the listen. They all seem really locked in. It wanders through very distinct themes and sections, all of which seems purpose driven (in contrast the the 2nd set Twist). You Ain’t Going Nowhere is works. Spock’s Brain is not the smoothest version, but has it’s moments. I really dig On Your Way Down. Gritty, bluesy. Chalkdust is a tight 10 min jam with focused Type II work (cool off-rhythm tension building). FEFY is well placed and suprisingly tight. I’m working on the second set now. The Twist is jammed out (20 min) but kind of meaners without purpose for a while. It’s interesting but nothing to write home about. This show is worth it for the first set alone, and is yet more proof that PH produced some great material.
