*With “Sweet Home Alabama” tease at beginning. ^Trey thanks Bill Graham Productions and the Phish crew, talks about keeping the spirit of Jerry Garcia alive through music, and wishes a Happy Birthday to Jerry Garcia. Jerry and the Dead had played many a time at Shoreline, and Jerry’s birthday was the next day (teases of “Happy Birthday” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking?” at the end).

My 2nd Phish show. Awesome night. Cinnamon Girl encore!

My favorite Ya Mar.

Awesome show. Love the Ghost -> Ya Mar -> Dogs Stole Things opening sequence, it really starts the show off right. Odd but cool segue into Dogs Stole Things. Could do without this LXL but then they play a ROCKIN Maze, then an nice Glide and an always rockin Saw It Again. This YEM… i dont even know where to start. Bringing in flavors of the recently-played DWD jam from Walnut creek 7-22 this YEM has it all. It goes funk -> WIERDNESS -> Straight-forward YEM climax. Then the transition into the vocal jam is so sweet. An amazing 20 min Runaway Jim to open the second set with a sick jam and seamless descending segue into When The Circus Comes. Vultures is always nice to hear, i hate how they shortened it in 98. Sweet McGrupp -> My fave Mikes Groove of 97. This is just an awesome show start to finish with great jams and sweet segues galore. Probably my favorite summer 97 show. Walnut creek is close but as a whole show i will say i have gotten more listening pleasure out of this one. Only thing is i’m not a big Cinnamon Girl fan and i wish they would have played another song or two but cant really complain. This is a great show. Would reccomend it to any fan of 97 wierdness.

I equate this show to a nice juicy pair of breasts. So delicious. The Ghost->Ya Mar opener is so tight. I love me some Limb by Limb and the Page B3 solo in Maze builds to a super high intensity before crashing into the guitar solo. A nice Glide rarity and then a sick Saw it Again. I love these early versions cause Trey just goes off. This YEM makes me want to touch myself. Helluva first set…

This Jim is fucking sick too. Not sure I like Circus coming out of the jam but whatever. Vultures and McGrupp make for a bad ass mid set two combo and then comes one of the gnarlier, darker Mike’s. That shit just gets down right evil for a few minutes there. This Weekapaug is decent, but not as good as the Walnut Creek version from the week prior. I like Cinnamon Girl as an encore.

Happy Birthday
