*First time played (Smashing Pumpkins cover); allegedly has been part of soundchecks for years. **With vacuum solo. ***Blues Image cover; last played 12-30-92, 486 shows earlier. ^With a second vacuum solo. ^^After which Trey calls Fish “Bob Weaver.” +With lyric “Bid you to have any spliff.”

Around 14 minutes into this Gumbo Trey starts a theme that I know I’ve heard before. Is that just a common Phish motif, or is that a tease?

Manteca?

Despite being a relatively short show, I had a great fucking time this night. I was really a big fan of the first couple Smashing Pumpkins albums so hearing Rhinoceros open the show was very surreal and awesome. The Halley’s that follows this is one of my favorite jams of the tour (along with the Gumbo to open set 2). Just so smooth. This was my first vacuum solo, which I thought would never happen as they were growing increasingly rare (obviously I geeked out a little when I got a bonus one in set 2 too  ). The Ride Captain Ride bustout was a lot of fun too.

The second set can be summed up in one word: Gumbo.

The Antelope in the encore is amazing though, one of my favorites I’ve ever seen.

The Tube in the second set is noteworthy as well.

Noted.
