My first “Maze” and they just destroyed it!

It just gets better and better!!!

I am really upset that I backed out of going to DC. I missed a lot. That’s all I can really say about it.

Just woke up at our hotel in Wisconsin. After a long drive and a good nights sleep in ready tomcrown last nights show as the best I’ve seen in 3.0. Last night was truely spiritual. Everything yes everything was exceptional. I had more emotion flowing through me last night than I can express. So much to mention I’ll just key in on the Stick to Mango transition (straight sickness) which will no doubt become legendary. I want to see peoples faces when they hear it, it’s that amazing.

I got to meet and hang with lowspark, Tony Clifton, Ship of Fools, Starshine and Mr Hood. The OKP vibes were flowin in row CC! SO glad we could share that set together!

Oop I just got a text from Brett! Food Time

I want in…

As we talked about post-show…I totally agree, an AMAZING AMAZING show…strong OKP vibes taboot!!

Great meeting new faces and seeing old ones as well!!!l…lets do it again tonight or something

“Legendary.” Yes, I like that. Both of those songs were my firsts!

And how about the ‘driving’ encore?

What a band…

My Deer Creek Review is up as well as some photos and video

Not only was the Maze destroyed, but Julius was absolutely shredded to pieces. Not to mention an unbelievable Slave! Peak after peak! Just beautiful!

I’ll second Andy’s sentiments! Great to see some new faces and some old ones, but I shall save that for another thread.

This was absolutely my favorite night of the weekend. I cannot express the emotion I felt during that second set. A Maze that rocked so hard I twisted my ankle and didn’t give two shits. My Meatstick that I have been holding out for since Big Cypress that segued itself abso-fucking-lutely perfect into Mango. A segue of my wildest dreams.

And THAT Slave. Yes, I saw the city, the zoo, the lights. Its beauty practically moved me to tears.

We will be talking about 8/13/10 for a long time folks. Mark my words.

This second set was my personal favorite of the week/end as well

Honorable mentions go out to moon rocks

story of this night: i can’t believe i didn’t feckin’ go to jail

really wish i would have SEEN this show and not just HEARD it from the gates… but as many of you know, things could have been A LOT worse. full story will perhaps be re-told on here sometime this week

wowza!!

^Glad you are still with us Brad…I heard the greasy details…WHEW!

this second set + L + thom and rach smoking non-stop joints = :open_mouth: holy crap this was good times.

Maze in particular was surreal for me…and I screamed like a little girl when I knew meatstick was coming. great segue into mango too.

:eh:

Full story please…

I ran into Pei-Yi, who pointed Hank out 3 or 4 rows up, whom I saw Neck and his girl standing beside. Craziness! I was quite drunk, and that was quite surreal to me. Glad I ran into you all!

MANGO!

Meatstick w/ Japanese lyrics…WHAT???

^ I saw this thread and that you had posted last. My first thought was … omg I can’t believe I ran into Little!!

was just groovin, as I do, and who passed in front of me but Justin Little and gf (sarah?). At first I didnt believe my eyes but it was so wonderful to bump into each other like that!

hugs Miss you Loads!
Pei-Yi

A couple weeks later and this show is so damn strong. The 3 M’s in the 2nd set sandwhiched that way Amazing! Maybe the best I’ve seen. Super glad I made a big deal and wore the psychedelic hockey mask in section A. I was born on a Friday the 13th you know. Well at set break I walked over to say something to BigB but he was gone. So I chatted up this guy James whom I’ve seen at dozens of shows (all of them ?) over the years. I briefly layed out that On 1st night Greek I was super close to the stage because I had found a cell phone and a glass piece in a cab. The people who lost it were running into the show. When they called I arranged a swap phone for a good floor spot up close. I mentioned that during Halley’s @ Greek 1 I did some fist pumps as Mike was getting more playful with his bass. He nodded yes to me and started to go off all slappy like. Immediatly Trey comes down HARD with the intro to Sample!! I look at Mike in Shock! He looks back at me with this wtf! look as well. Then I look to Trey who has this angry look and follows Mike’s line of sight down to me. I just do some bowing and arm gesticulating towards him to signal my immediate subserviance which seemed to appease him because he destroyed Sample. I looked back at Mike anbd I saw him flip the bird at Trey. I thought it was at me at 1st! Then at Telluride 2 I do the same fist pump as I did at Greek 1, during Ya Mar. I get the nod Mike looks to Trey. Trey gives the yes nod and off we went into Mike bass heaven! It worked a couple more times that night.
Now at 8/13/10 DC 2. I say this all stemmed from Halley’s at Greek. I say good bye and go back to my Page side seat but I looked back and saw James on the phone. I don’t know, but when they openned set 2 with Halley’s I knew it was on!! At 1 point this night I had Page and Fish playing along to the cues I devised for them along with Mike. Trey even played along twice!! His signal is the middle eastern prayer maneuver. I had to hide from them at one point because if I put my hands down they would slow down the music. I noticed when I came out of some 46 Days trance that the jam was waning and they were all glancing at me. I started “conducting” again and the music picked up intensity. I started wondering if they were trying to get me to lose weight or what. I started getting tired so I mouthed the words “No More, I’m sorry!” while waving my hands in the “universal fend off paper airplanes” signal. They looked pretty pleased with themselves as I sat down to hide and listen for a while and not try to influence the show any more. Then that Maze,Meatstick>Mango>Fluffhead>Julius was my own little heaven! Epic encore. I loved the rare My Sweet One plus the Walls bustout. I guess had a good show. Maybe my best ever.
