[1] Roggae quote.

Notes: The jam at the end of Ghost included a Roggae quote. Harry Hood contained a Theme from the Bottom tease.

is there like a sweatband or a bandage wrap or something on Trey’s left wrist/arm?

edit: nvm, believe it’s just his watch and end of his sleeve playing tricks on my eyes, hairy arms look like athletic tape

The boys RAGED it hard for a tour opener, IMO. The energy and jamming was just sick! Cool venue too!

^ great energy and venue last nite!

this review is based on my experience last nite and written off the top of my head as soon as I woke up
Ok, did not expect Suzy opener… but hell yes, I looove that song so fuck ya! Got my dance on early, I felt Cities next and when they dropped into it, I was extra pleased and danced hard…great to hear it jammed a bit too…then KDF. I love this song pretty much no matter what so when the jam turned out to be a patient build to a rewarding climax, it was great. Guelah was a very pleasant time, played good and great crowd energy. I swear to God I knew they were gonna play Cool it Down for some reason, I was just singing it all day, so when they busted it out I kinda freaked for a sec and was very happy when they jammed it out! woo hoo!! (plus i just noticed it was getting hot as hell) Rift was great, another crowd energetic song…Stash was good. ended on a fuckin high note! Bouncing was awesome as I literally was bouncing around the room all nite. And again I felt the Gin next so that was a great patient, fuckin’ multi peaking dance party! and Quinn was just outrageous and phunky! way better than the Bowl last year! I also felt they were gonna play Quinn too! very full of synchronicities last nite

Now the R&R->Ghost…holllyyy shiiiit. if people complain they don’t jam enough, well here’s the bands big
fuck you to them, cuz they kept goin and shifting and being in the moment.it was awwwesome. I thought they were gonna play When the Circus Comes so when Fishman started singing ‘the circus is the place for me’ I personally was like wtf??? :wtf: I was just thinking about the circus, this is why I love this band! LxL was grrreat. Fishman was on fire and I danced my ass off. Guyute was dope and trippy timez. loved the sweet song Dirt and really got to soak in everything and just enjoy life. Harry Hood was fantastic and pretty much perfectly jammed. now I swear I felt the GTBT set closer and was reminiscent of Tahoe last year and Trey just rips. Julius was a great dance party and sent us out in great spirits!

Loved the RxR from last night!

^^so the durgz were good in California, shocker

nah, sounds like RnR>Ghost is where it’s at…also sounds like you were synced up with the band there checkitout, gonna have to check out song lengths if I don’t get a proper listen soon

edit: question, did they go back into RnR after the long jam or no? wondering if they’ve ditched the old “Long Beach Jam” type track listings, I hope so…never really liked that much

^ I was waiting for that. Suprisingly, only had a few sips of beer and a couple puffs, and caffeine. I just love Phish and music enough to get me to those levels. Besides I’ve done enough “substance” to last the rest o my life. I’d say I felt a little n sync with teh band…tis a mind blowing experience as I’m sure most of you know…and I’m pretty sure that R&R just went to jamland pretty quick and never resolved the song…

This is a great show. I was a little taken aback by the second set. Not that I expected a snoozer or anything as most of the shows so far this year have been good, but this one is super awesome.

I like the Suzy opener, good way to get leg 2 rollin. The first half of the first set is ‘standard’, but not at all unexpected. By ‘standard’ I mean a handful of tunes in regular rotation with nice short jams/solos and a hell of a good time. Then the first moment of beauty of the night comes in the Stash. I really like the short dissonant build up they managed before the peak in this version. I was sort of distracted when Gin was playing (I was working on my computer), but I registered that it was good and need to check it out again.

The Rock and Roll>Ghost might be the best of 2012 so far. They scored points not just for distance, but also for style. There was only a min of so toward the end of the RnR jam that I felt they were wandering a little bit. But other than that things moved very patiently and this resulted in a lot of great textured grooves. The theme/energy/momentum from the RnR jam carried right over into the Ghost jam so as to seem like part of one long jam. Good shit right there. The Limb by Limb alone was a little lackluster, but the Hood toward the end of the set was the best of the year. Hands down.

I’m really excited to hear what happens on the rest of this tour.

Yeah…what a great show. This second set has me slobbering on myself…

Right about the 21 minute mark on my recording on the Rock and Roll it starts getting pretty weird. It gets pretty spacey till they go into Ghost. I like it a lot

I just downloaded this and skipped straight to set two. I gotta go hang a bunch of ceiling fans tomorrow, gonna listen to the whole show while I do that. I love listening to Phish while I put lights and fans together and send electricity into them. I start really thinking about what the electricity is doing. Connecting grounds and hots and neutrals, even before I turn on the switch there is this potential, a network of wires waiting to be energized and produce the desired outcome. Sometimes I hit the switch and nothing happens then I realized I wasn’t concentrating and messed up some mundane detail. So I fix that and then the whole thing starts flowing with electrons.

I love Phish

This Rock & Roll pleases me. especially around the 12:15 mark, and then again around 21:00. I love how this jam isn’t just Trey noodling about, it is very Page heavy, and Floyd-esque. Nine Thumbs up

Really, it sounds like something out of that awesome February 03 run.

Can’t wait to hear this show!

That whole second set is really remarkable.

Awesome pics Doojmeister! Too bad these pics don’t capture the stifling heat.
