1: Makisupa Policeman-> Harpua*, Chalk Dust Torture, Theme From the Bottom, Punch You in the Eye-> Ghost, Ginseng Sullivan, You Enjoy Myself, Train Song, Character Zero, The Squirming Coil (1:16)

2: Wolfman’s Brother-> Simple** -> My Soul#-> Slave to the Traffic Light, Rocky Top, Julius (1:08)

3: Halley’s Comet-> Cities-> Llama-> Lawn Boy, Limb By Limb^-> Funky Bitch (0:59)

E: Contact-> Loving Cup (0:13)

4: Disco Tent Jam

The Great Went (Day One). *Starts with the theme and Jimmy story, picking up where the song aborted last year at the end of the Clifford Ball (08-17-96). **With theme from “The Odd Couple” tease/jam. #With a kind of a twisted “Seven Dwarves” (or “When the Circus Comes”?) sort of jam. ^Major fireworks are let off behind the stage during the song, culminating in a great finale display as Funky Bitch kicks in.

The segue between Halley’s->Cities is some of the deepest, funkiest, groovin’ shit they played all year. And that is saying something. “James Brown on a bad night.”

*Called the opener

Me too.

liar face :silent:

This weekend will forever be my favorite Phish experience ever.

:thumbup:

Julius (1:08)???
Funky Bitch (0:59)???

DAMN!!! I need to get this show.

Am I missing sarcasm, Justin?

I love the Halleys > Cities > Llama…but then that 3rd set gets kind of…I dunno…un-epic, but then I’m sure with the fireworks going off, it would have been more epic than I can hear in the recordings.

I remember it being pretty Epic. It was my first live experience. It was the reason why I became a true Phish fan.

I thought the Limb by Limb was pretty good itself, but I can see how it comes off as less than stellar on tape. When I hear it it brings back the feelings I had of being there so I’m biased. Plus after the show was all said and done it was like “Oh, and we get to do this again tomorrow? Neat”

PS I believe the (1:08) and (0:59) are the times of the whole set.

^Remember the “Vial”

No sarcasm. That looks awesome! I’ve never seen that setlist with the length of the jams. I would love to hear an hour long Julius! Plus I’ve always been curious to hear the story pickup in Harpua.

Those are set lengths, brah.

I think if there were an hour-long “Julius,” you would have known by now.

:wtf:

Now I feel like a dipshit. I guess I should have paid more attention. I would have definitely realized that had I seen (1:16) after Squirming Coil…

Now, when am I getting that hour-long Julius?

The funk from the second two sets of this show belongs in a class of its own. From here on out I will classify the funk from this night as “Tar Funk” becuase it’s slow…and dirty…and you just get stuck in it.

:laughing:

They really didn’t pick up the story but went into the “the storms gone” part. But it just dawned on me that it sounds like you have not heard this show. You need to…RIGHT NOW!!!

Seriously…right now
