It seems weird that a show where Phish played Skin it Back could garner and kind of negative response.

I’m not blind though, that second set looks like it fizzled before it even started going. I’m sure it was probably fun though, right? I mean, If I Could is a beautiful and underplayed song, and it was the only part of that show where the stream was listenable for me. I enjoyed it, but man…anyone that was there care to comment?

They’re saving for the south

However I would’ve had fun at a show with that setlist but I haven’t heard it

Miner said Paug summoned some 97 funk, it’s miner but I’d be interested just to know if they did something like that with it

they are getting slightly more jammy overall in the right songs…its not all length but

Stash 14 min
Tweezer 15 min

I’ll take it

Haven’t listened, but this one seems very “noob” friendly. Like I said, haven’t listened and nothing is screaming LISTEN!!!

Skin It Back would melt a noobs face right off! Then he would have no face for the rest of the show.

You and I both.

Listened to this one last night on my way to and from rehearsal (90 minute drive each way- worked out just perfect.) I thought the whole first set was really top-notch. The CDT solo kind of reminded me of the ALO version with excellent pacing from Trey and the line that wraps up the solo comes off really well. Fish’s vocals are excellent on Moma. Beautiful jamming in Stash, especially somewhere toward the end of the jam when it goes all major and pretty. I love where they took Tweezer. Piper seemed a bit weird, like Fish waited too long to bring in the snare drum which kind of messed up the momentum of the song. Honestly, I wish so much that they’d bring back the studio ending- I love the way it drops into that lazy waltz after the (basically) one chord frenzy of the jam. BDTNL was a nice ride.

I’m about ready for Lovin’ Cup to move back in the rotation to making approximately one appearance per tour…

Mellow Mood! That’s pretty much how I would sum up the atmosphere, both lot and show. And that’s not a bad thing! The lot was super chill, just a small row for shakedown. Yea the nitrous was in full effect (insert Midwest joke here  ) from most people I talked to it either seemed people at the show were either noobs (I say that in a nice way) or old school fans. I just drove up from stl that day and was driving home that night, cause we were leaving for ATL early in the am so I just wanted to take it easy and soak it all in. That’s why I loved this show so much. Don’t read the setlist. Listen to this show.
The first set was awesome. Lots of tight jams esp. the gin and stash. It was cool to get a Curtis Lowe and I was speechless with the skin it back. And it was really well played. (There were def a few around me who didn’t comprehend what I was comprehending and that made it even more special!)
The second set started off with a stellar tweezer into a short but raging piper. Mike’s was good, and I didn’t mind the bouncin. BDTNL was smoking, but then bam. Heavy things. I was disappointed. The show which had pretty good flow to it was stopped. And I think for some it took away the awesomeness of if I could, which was a brilliant transition into a slower tempo, weekaupaug. I can never get too many hoods and I liked the energy Suzie brought to close the show. Like I said this show is worth a spin, though the second set is a little hard to listen to all the way through, ESP if you weren’t there (my buddy pointed that out when listening) so I would recommend dropping some of the second set songs on a shuffle or mix. Cause even though I was let down by the Heavy things, I even go back and listen to it as an individual track, mainly because page brings it! I hope they make it back here. The venue was fuckin sweet.

Stash, Stash, Stash.

Who said anything negative about this show? It’s great. In fact, after listening to this and Charlotte finally, I would say this is better even though the Charlotte show got fluffed a lot. The Stash and Tweezer are definitely the highlights and the rest of the show is really tight. I guess you could complain about the Bouncin, # Line, Heavy Things combo in the middle of the second set but come on…that’s 12 minutes of a 3 hour performance. Get over it.

Well I would say everyone that wasn’t at the show or hasn’t listened to it, is giving it a bad review. My guess is a lot of setlist lookers :problem:

How about that weekapaug>If I could

I haven’t listened to Charlotte, but that’s interesting cause I too have heard a lot of people raving over it. Ill have to give it a listen.

I had alot of fun at this show. Thought that every song was well played. ESP stash and tweezer. the weekapaug was some FUNK too. And who doesn’t love Skin it Back? Feel lucky to have seen it twice.

Also one of my favorite venues i’ve seen Phish at. Super lax lots, not a bad seat in the house (literally), and perfect sound. Go back here Phish!
